.........in fact he might be better off sticking around for another year. His receivers screwed him pretty good but he can't read a D for shit. I saw numerous times when he had man coverage outside with the safety sneaking towards the line & he didn't even look that way..........& if you can't sidestep even one rusher you're not going to make it at the next level. I can't lay it all at his feet.........his OL, especially the LG, can't pass block for shit. But if Arkansas had Andrew Luck playing qb tonite they are celebrating right now.

 All in all a pretty bad performance by Arky..........nice job on the comeback but they should never have been down that far to start with.

I dont think that last pass for the interception hurt him. His receivers hurt his stats because they were dropping balls all game & that will be the excuse. If they didnt dropp all those passes, it wouldnt have come down to that last pass.

Are you kidding me? How many CRUCIAL dropped passes were there by his WRs? They make half of those catches and Arkansas wins that game EASILY. Also, account for the stupid plays his defense and special teams made. Mallet should have never even been placed in that position to throw the INT at the end, special teams shouldve picked the ball up and ran it into the endzone.

Mallet will go after Luck in the draft in terms of QBs. He has the size, strength, and accuracy. Also, speaking of Luck, he played against a softer defense in V Tech. Ohio St D is one of the best in the country. Not apples to apples in my opinion at ALL.

Guys the bottom line is that what he does at the NFL Combine, his Pro Day and individual workouts will cost at least 20 times more than his stats or what he did in the Sugar Bowl.  I will guarantee you he is drafted in the first round and that some team will absolutely fall in love with him and that is all that matters.  Seriously WTF did Jay Cutler ever really do in college?  It was his measurables at the combine and his percieved "intangibles" they gathered from his individual workouts and he shot up the draft boards.

I actually thought he was pretty accurate and played well. Unfortunately his teammates let him down and dropped numerous easy catches that would have either scored or converted big 3rd downs. OSU very lucky to have pulled the win off. If I was an NFL scout I would not lose interest in him because of this game.

 I believe I acknowledged the fact that his wr's dropped a lot of passes............& I'm not even talking about the pick at the end. But when you come to the line & can't ID where you have favorable matchups you're missing a big part of what it takes to be a big time qb.
 I'm not blaming him for the loss.......they had many chances to make the plays that win a game like that..........just making an observation.

I agree.  Mallet is unstoppable if he has time to sit in the pocket and scan the field, but once you chase him out of his square, he has no ability to make plays on the run.

Sorry for you Redskins fans but you need to read other threaDS about Mallett. This cat's brain is full of rocks, the definition of "knucklehead."

Hopefully, Shanahan isn't that stupid but wait he did draft Jay Cutler.

Mallet threw for 300 yards had numerous drops and was harassed all freaking game

He lacks the big time NFL QB mentality. He could be a good gunslinger in the NFL but I do not see he will win it all for a team. I haven't seem him done that for Arky

His receivers dropped about a dozen catchable passes. That's what killed them.

Of course his receivers dropped several balls during the cousre of the game, but that's not the point.  The point is, in the NFL, you will not have the luxury of just sitting in the pocket and scanning the field.  You have to be able to extend plays and create on the the run.  I have watched Mallet play about 8 games in his college career, and he simply cannot do it.  He is a complete stiff.  For that reason, I don't think he will make it in the NFL.  I would not burn a early drift pick on him that's for sure . . . nothing earlier than a 4th round pick.

NFL defensive line's and Line backer's will eat him alive. Byron Leftwich's NFL career will look better IMO.
