NW QB is out, and Freshman QB is in. Basically NW will be running all day, which also means trouble for them. Illinois needs this win to be bowl eligible. Even though Illinois defense has given up a lot of points lately, their offense is still very explosive and will be scoring tons of points...on any defense.

GL to your pick. I would pick Illinois on the spot.

A lot of people at NU think this Evan Watkins is very capable. And acutally, he has a stronger arm than Persa. Also, he is redshirt frosh, not a true frosh, which makes a big difference. I don't think NU will be running all day at all. I think with Watkins not being a dual threat runner like Persa, NU will be throwing the ball a lot more considering how big of an arm Watkins has. Plus, Illinois weakness is their defensive backs, not their front seven.

Illinois offense is okay and they do have some talent. But scoring "a ton of points on any defense?" The three best defenses they have faced this year, they scored a whopping 13 points v Mizzu, 13 v OSU and 6 v Michigan State. Other than that, they have played Purdue, Minnesota, Indiana and Southern Miss...

This game is not as easy as it looks and don't be shocked if NU wins out-right. Especially since Pat Fitzgerald and his staff will out-coach Ron Zook.
