14.5 point middle opportunity

I don't normally hedge plays or attempt to middle my bets, but I have a great opportunity at this time to get a 14.5 middle in the Tenn/SoCar game this Saturday.  I got South Carolina -3 right before the season started at 5dimes as their GOY lines.  This line is now currently at South Carolina -17.5 and I think there is a good chance I can middle this.  Your thoughts or suggestions?

Wow, that's probably one of the biggest middle opportunities I've ever seen..Could easily be a S.Carolina 10-14 win I think....How much did you get down on the GOY line. 1 Unit, Big??

That is a great opprtunity.  I would do it in a heartbeat.  No lose situation...

That's a helluva bet you made before the season   I'm jealous of the situation you've got.  I would middle, considering you've got more than two TD's to do it with, which is insane.  Good luck with whatever you decide.

If you are ever going to try a middle, this would be the time. Middle opportunities do not get any better than this. What ever you placed on the first bet, the most you can lose is "juice", then make a straight bet on the team you think will cover at this time. Pretty cut and dried!!!

Think about it tmpeus78, what was the best possible scenario you hoped for when you placed that bet?  Probably this!

I dont agree with the middling. I look at it as 2 separate bets. The question is do you like Tenn +17 without considering your original bet. If you do then play it. If you dont lay off. How pissed would you be if you played Tenn without really liking them in this spot and SC blows them out. If I were to really be concerned about the money I would find Tenn on some alt. line that payes +200   probably +3.5 lay 2.5 Units and take your 2.5 U win.

You try to middle and put a little extra on the team of your choice. No more than juice can be lost on the middle. You still can make a bet up and above the middle. THAT IS A NO BRAINER !!!!

$100 on both sides trying to middle. Most lost is $10 or so in juice. Then put an amount on your favorite side. If it wins you collect  minus the juice. That straight bet could lose, but so could your original bet.

That's probably correct if you only have a small amount on SC -3. If it were several hundred dollars, might be worth a try to middle half of the amount.

I'd do it in a heartbeat, tmpeus. Far too much value to pass up with that large of a middle. Good snag before the year began!

Probably a good move...Your 5 units should be VERY Safe, and throwing out a  little for a shot at that middle is the way to go and if you don't hit the middle you'll still profit from the GOY... BOL

If you like Tenn +17.5, then bet that as a hedge but if you like SC to cover 17.5 then I'd put enough on Tenn ML to win back your 5 units, and hope that SC wins by more than 3 if they win.     If you could find Tenn +3.5 that would be best.  The Greek might offer this.  They offer Alt Lines on abround 10 games a week, but they don't post them until the day before.

This is very simple.

Would you bet TN right now if you didnt have the bet on SC?

If so, you should bet it, and if not, you shouldnt.  Period.

They are totally independent bets, even though your brain wants to connect them.  Its very simple.
