leading up to the usc/oklahoma championship game, james went off on how oklahoma was going to kill usc and the matchup wouldnt be competitive and that auburn deserved usc spot in this game. at halftime usc had a giant lead and james comes in with the bit of nugget that if usc keeps this up usc will blow out the sooners. really einstein? so usc goes on to indeed blow out the sooners and in the post game show james has the gall to say "i told you so"
this guy is a clown.

I'm not a Craig James fan at all, but he certainly deserves credit for calling out Boise for the fraud of a team they are. And the 11 AP voters who voted them #1 should be permanently banished from college football.

They beat #6 VT on the road. They beat Oregon State. Both will be bowl-eligible. They're in the top 5 in team offense and defense. They have a terrific QB. They return 90% of their team from last year when they beat Pac10 champ Oregon and #4 TCU. They need to beat Nevada which demolished Cal. And also Hawaii which will be bowl-eligible.
What more do they have to do? If Boise were in the BigEast or ACC there'd be no question that they're deserving if they run the gauntlet undefeated. The WAC isn't that much worse (esp the BigEast. That conference is awful).
If they're a fraud, then every other ranked team is a Nigerian cashier's check.

You make some good points Composite. The haters keep discounting the win over VT. Well, what if VT had hung onto and won the game vs Boise? I think we can all agree that they would not have lost to James Madison: that was an obvious letdown. The Hokies would be #1 right now, and we would all be talking about them as a national title contender.

I know you shouldn't give a team credit for what they did last year, but in Boise's case it carries merit. I personally think last year's Oregon team was better and Boise dominated them. They returned 20 of 22 starters as composite mentioned. If you think Boise isn't worthy of an NC shot, then you are a hyprocrite if you don't consider Boise worthy. They also beat TCU who is in the same situation with returning a shit load of starters. My last comment is this, the preseason polls had Boise at #3 in the AP and #5 in the USA today. Teams ranked in front of them, Bama (lost), Ohio St (lost), Florida (fuckin joke), Texas (fuckin joke). They were the #4 ranked team to end the year last year......again returning 20 of 22. So they are preseason top 5, all the teams in front of them lose and they still have to fight for fucking respect because they don't play Bama, Ohio St, USC, and Oklahoma in their non conf schedule. Get a fuckin clue toolboxes, this year's Boise state team is ELITE. When Oregon, Auburn, Mich St, and Mizzou all lose in the next month all you fuckin haters can go watch curling while the rest of get treated to a game featuring a top notched, prepared, outstandingly coached team of winners.

So what you are saying is that The 11 voters who vote them #1 this week should be banished----But all the Voters who voted Bama and OSU #1 the previous weeks get a pass?
Great analogy---about as well spoken as your recruiting bullshit chart
Hey Freak tell me again how Florida and Texas are doing this year bruv? Boise would beat both of those schools this year by double digits on the road!!!

Urdaddy- you're making too much sense- you'd better stop before the SEC thought police come in here. Something just came to mind: the vitriol directed at Boise may not just be about "mid-major" status. In the mind of SEC fans it may be an indictment (in their minds) of West Coast football in general. What if a team like Troy or Southern Miss were in the position of Boise/Utah/TCU?

We won't find out becasue Boise won't play Florida or Texas. If they did, they'd probably lose. Boise won't agree to play anyone in the SEC ever since they got drilled by 4 TDs by Georgia. I think the closest game hey ever had with an SEC school was losing by 3 TDs. I guess we can see why they took their blue ball and went home.

Once again great analogy that was about 5 years ago!!!!
You're on roll with outdated info---whats funny is that NO-SEC school will play them without a 2for1 if not 3for1 home series. I think thats the reason they havent played any SEC school since, but you'd already know that.

Flor and Tex neither one would beat Boise this year,in years past yes they would have, but Geez Jimmy give the team a break for their last 2 seasons. They have proved themselves over and over,,if Flor and Tex or Ohio St think they are so good, then line up and play Boise. All Boise has done is beat everyone that has come in front of them the last 2 years,I think they deserve that much credit.

Great point Socal! Did Georgia ever make the return trip to Boise? Is VT going to open next season in a "neutral" site game vs BSU in Seattle? The old excuse of "we can play somebody with a high profile" doesn't work anymore. The VT-BSU game was tied for the highest TV rating in years.

You and I have a standing offer for $10K in any Boise St BCS bowl, that will be what really matters between you and I. That said, why are bringing up a game from 2005 in which non of the current Boise St roster played in? Secondly, why didn't Georgia accept a home and home with Boise? Maybe because the fuckin SEC is afraid to go to Boise in early September and lose their chance a championship. I guarantee Boise St wouldn't turn down a home and home with anyone in the SEC right fucking now. Boise have nothing to lose and everything to gain. SEC schools are the Floyd Mayweather to Boise's Manny Pacquiao

This is just plain garbage, and you're smart enough to know better.
