When ESPN initially scheduled this game, they probably thought they would have a big showdown between two of the top teams in the ACC. Has not turned out that way at all. This is a tough game to call in my opinion. Top defense in the league v. the top offense in the league. My play for tonight is:
FSU + 3 220/200
FSU is 2-4 on the year, but five of the six teams they played will be playing in Bowl Games. They were competitive in each of those five games....winning one, and losing four with the largest margin begin 10 points. UNC has not played as tough of schedule thus far. This indicates to me that FSU has developed a prolific offense against quality opponents while UNC's defense may be slightly overrated.
Further, if this game is close, which I think it will be, UNC does not have a quarterback that can win them the game. UNC will need to run the football effectively to win, and I think FSU will be able to get enough stops to hold them off.
Alot of people will point out that UNC is playing at home on Thursday night. I actually think this is a positive for FSU. FSU has played terrible at home, and it only is going to get worse because the fans and university are ready for Bowden to go. I actually think the Noles will play better away than at home. I also like the fact that they have had 10 days to prepare for this game. The coaches are facing tremendous pressure, and while Bowden's fate may be sealed, the coaches that actually do the coaching have a lot on the line. I expect a very prepared FSU team tonight, that plays with a lot of heart to win.
Lastly, it should be mentioned that FSU has owned UNC with SU wins 9 of the last 10 years. Most of those games were not even close. I don't put too much stock in this stat because UNC is capable of beating FSU tonight. However, I don't think they will. Good Luck!

You are correct, and that is my mistake. I should have worded it 9 of the last 10 times these two teams have played. I also noted that I did not put a lot of weight on that stat. Still, not denying FSU has owned UNC in the past.

Also let it be known that if the team really does want Bowden gone They'll tank as many games possible to see it gets done BYE BYE BOWDEN
Actually, I would have to disagree with that. Even players on struggling teams are quite loyal to their head coaches. The kids that signed on to play for FSU did so in large part because of Bowden. This same thing happened at Penn State few years back, and the players consistently backed JoPa. I am not sure because I am not in the locker room, but I suspect the players back Bowden, and they will play inspired football tonight. I guess we will have the answer later on.

I also disagree based on the fact that these kids are still going to play hard, otherwise they will have virtually NO SHOT at the pro's when scouts seem them "tanking" games

I'm a heels fan and agree with everything you said, but I'm not sure how FSU is handling all the media attention about Bowden. Tough call tonight.
I think it is a tough call as well. Knowing how a particular team is handling media attention is a tough thing to cap. Obviously, I think playing a game on the road will be beneficial to this FSU team. Doak Campbell Stadium has not been friendly to the Noles. They could easily crumble under the pressure as well.
