Stop Saying "TRAP GAME" for BYU

People need to stop saying that tomorrow nights game is a trap game for BYU. On the road against a team whose lone loss was to Oklahoma does not constitute a so-called "trap game", it constitutes a possible loss to a good team. 

TCU almost overlooked Colorado State in what is truly the definition of a trap game (On the road, against a conf. opponent, big spread, less than a week before their biggest game to date at home on national TV).

I really like BYU here, I think they are the better team and will prove it.

I agree but the reason people are considering it is a trap is simply because of he standings.  People see BYU in the top 10 and TCU is nowhere to be found.  I don't think BYU is overlooking this team at all but it won't matter, this is the most impressive TCU team I have seen in quite some time.

It's also a letdown, perhaps a look-ahead, and maybe a reach-around.

If the matchup itself is no longer a trap can the line still be considered a trap?

Yes.  I am a believer in trap lines (somewhere, better gamblers than me are laughing), but don't think this is one.

Couple weeks ago many cappers though Fresno State was the play against Wisconsin at home with the line being similar to this one.  It was a close game but we all know what happened.  I'm seeing a very similar situation here with BYU, one of the top team (BCS buster team) on the road against a decent team in TCU yet it's practically even.  Pretty sure the BCS wants TCU to pull out the upset so they can get rid of BYU from their list but it seems like every year we always have those BCS buster teams gone undefeated and I'm not surprise BYU is one of them. 

BTW, I do believe in trap line game, at least to me, trap line is a line where the book set it too low so it looks too good for one side and public will be all over it.  One game a week is all they need to either break even or up.  Of course lots of cappers also over analyze too much and assume every game if the line is too low or off a bit is a trap game.  May be the books know something we don't know about this game.  May be BYU QB will get knock out in the 1st series, just like Edwards did in the Buffalo/Arizona match up.

It is not a trap game at all. BYU will be up and ready for this game, no questions asked. I think what people are missing is that they can be up for this game and still easily lose. TCU is a damn good team, and if they didn't have OU scheduled this year they would be getting much more publicity right now. When you add in the home field advantage at night I think TCU wins, but am only on the first half under right now. Both teams should come out playing safe offense early and probably open up in the 2nd half. Both teams play underrated defense also.

Damn Brandon Lang cost me big last week don't know if i can still trust him his 30 and 20 dimers cost me and his nfl 3 15 dimers and only one hit

exactly WTF does that mean? Does that mean you really want to bet FAV but no heuvos? or is it just a CYA post? do you think the dog is right play? if so bet the dog.. if not bet the fav.. if not do not play that game... but PLEASE...
 
IMHO, there are no TRAP games... one team will cover, the other will not ( barring the occasional push) so shut the f*** up with trap game, pick a side....

Everyone will see after tomorrow nights game...BYU will get beat..Vegas says so...Everybody keep putting money on BYU thats what they want. PUBLIC: Oh my God the #8 team in the nation is at a pick or either an underdog in some places playing a team that is unranked, there is no way they can lose. This is the easiest game on the board.

You don't believe in a "letdown?" Like Alabama hosting Kentucky? Or, I'm taking Mizzou +5.5 against Texas this week because I believe Texas will have a letdown after leaving it all on the field last Saturday(and from what I saw, the refs did a good job of gifting Texas).

But, for purposes of this thread, I'm liking TCU. Neither team has played a very tough schedule, with the exception of TCU getting beat like a circus monkey by Oklahoma. TCU exceptional at home - 18-2 SU and 14-4 ATS the last three years.
