Angels are pretty fired up, if they win, they celebrate on the field in front of a team that they now have some bad blood with. A series of knockdown pitches to Vlad instaigated a bench clearing incident in game one of this series. Weather remains unstable for tonight, forecasts are calling for the rain to come rolling in at some point in the form of thunder showers. Hard to say when and where it hits, it's nice right now in orange county, with a pretty brisk wind.
If i liked over 9.5 -110 with jered weaver and ryan feierabend, then i'm apt to like over 10.0 -105 with washburn and saunders. the angels lefty has had some decent outing since his return, while washburn seems to just be bad right now. i don't really give the mariners enough of a chance to win at +148, and i don't play -160 favs with an average pitcher on the mound against a team that rakes lefties. If i thought washburn was going to lose #16 on the season, i would probably head towards the Angels RL at +125.
another reason to like the over is the Angels pen, after posting the best era in MLB from 2002-2006 at 3.37, they've ballooned to 4.09 era this season, good for 19th best of 30 teams. The m's pen needs little explanation, after a brief respite from their troubles, they are back to their old tricks. Sherrill seems to be back ontrack, and Putz seems to be healthy, but there is not mich else that breeds confidence in a tight game.
