The Good:
NYM (-134)
Kuroda is just 2-5 lifetime vs. NYM. He also is coming off a bad outing in his last start. Looking at last night’s performance, NYY bats are asleep right now. And oh yeah, there is that guy named Matt Harvey on the mound.
PHI (+108)
Cliff Lee is 4-1 AWAY this year with a scary 1.60 ERA, 0.82 WHIP. Lee has 8 quality starts in his last 10 outings, and in his last 4 starts (including hot-hitting CIN, SF, and ARI) he has held teams to a 1.16 ERA. Conversely, Dempster is just 1-4 HOME this season with a 4.50 ERA. In his last 3 starts, Dempster has a 10.66 ERA and has not notched a win since May 2.
The Bad: Fading KC, Joe Blanton (LAA)
STL (+101)
I usually don’t bet on rookie pitchers, but KC is struggling so badly right now. If Lyons has any hiccups, I feel like the STL offense can compensate for it. Lyons had a pretty good first start, so I think he will be okay.
LAD (-127)
Ryu has a 3-1 record, 2.13 ERA, and 1.11 WHIP at HOME. Blanton is 1-4 AWAY (including losses to HOU, SEA, and MIN) with a 5.02 ERA and 1.60 WHIP.
The Ugly: Fading Edwin Jackson
CWS (-1.5)
Edwin Jackson is 1-4
lifetime against CWS with a 6.60 ERA. CHC
has failed to cover the RL in 7 of Jackson’s last 8 losses.
