How in the world is Adam Dunn batting cleanup, leaving Alexei Ramirez at 7th??  Complete idiocy.  Just browsing over the numbers, it looks like KCs lineup is stacked to smash Sale.

I understand this is a sweep game, but anyone think the line may be a tad bit low?  I'm really leaning towards KC under right now.

Adam Done at Kauffman stadium is batting .190 (11-58) with 20 SO in 71 PA.
Alexei Ramirez at Kauffman Stadium is batting .296 (53-179)

I agree with you...the price seems a tad low and its moving towards Chicago.  I might roll with the under as I think Sale shows up today and there are major holes in the White Sox line up against Shields.

did you look at the numbers he had going against Texas in Arlington.  He won 5-2.  All those guys got shut out opening day when Sale beat KC 1-0.  This is game 3 ChiSox are playing not get swept KC playing to prove they are back.  They don't need todays game.  They want to get to Baltimore and get ready to play the Orioles.  KC knows beating Chicago would make a statement but they also know going to Baltimore with their top guys in the bullpen and winning would speak louder.

Yes, it is hard to sweep.  Things get easier though when you set your lineup like Robin Ventura has done.

How does that situation relate to this situation?  Opening day is far different than a month into the season.  Are you saying whenever teams have great numbers against a pitcher, they will not end up backing those numbers up and coming through?  You certainly are implying this.

The White Sox are without Viciedo and Beckham, and it makes a team that is already struggling take a bigger step backwards.  They are playing right now to keep things fairly close in the division and not lose their entire season before the All Star break.  They aren't playing with fight, they are playing with fear.

J Gambler - Not to agree or disagree on the pick, but every player, coach and manager knows the same thing. The only game you can win today is the one you are playing today, tomorrow will take care of itself. Other than packing their bags and kissing their wives, girlfriends or mistresses goodbye I don't think the Royals have given any thought to the next game at Baltimore. Been there, done that.

The look ahead factor doesn't work with me in MLB.  There's too many more people involved for it to be a huge factor.  Baseball is a grind, everyone knows this.

Pitchers about even
Kc will try to win every game especially in division .. There not looking a head take Kc 4-2 win...

any insights as to why the line dropped?  Still don't feel comfortable with KC until I can figure out why the line has moved down.

Element we are going to have to do lunch what part of the Zona.  Currently under doctor's care out here in Scottsdale after a truck accident.  Alright all that you say is true. Everything dimn said may be true.  White Sox are playing in a place they have had absolutely no success at in the past.  However, Sale is a young stud and has better numbers by far against KC than Shields does against ChiSox.  I am not saying he can't win.  However, I just believe after watching the game yesterday. That sale has the best chance to win today.  KC had to come back against Chicago's pen to win yesterday against a crafty lefty.  However, as good as Quintana is he is not as good as Sale.  Nor is he supported like Sale.  White sox are 4-2 in games started by Sale opposed to KC who is just 3-3 when Shields pitches.  Quintana got roughed up by the Rangers his previous start Sale came out and got a 5-2 victory.  Look at Sale's last 2 starts versus Texas in Arlington not an easy place to win he won and against Tampa Bay and you can all tell me how great the murderer's row is for the Royals.  Both Tampa and Texas have a much better lineup.  Shields beat Detroit and Tampa which are also a much better lineups than he faces today.  I just back the White Sox and the over

Did you miss the opening post that showed todays current lineup vs both pitchers?  The clear edge goes to KC hitting vs Sale, not the other way around.

Chris Sale vs KC lifetime, 5-5 2.74 ERA (62 IP, 64 H, 19 ER)
Chris Sale pitching @ Kauffmann Stadium, 2-4 3.77 ERA (31 IP, 34 H, 13 ER)

He pitches vs KC better at home than he does in Kansas City, as assumed with most pitchers.

After last night's letdown, the White Sox are demoralized, dumbfounded, and distraught. KC is on a high, Shields pitches better at home and during the day. Sale pitches better at home (which he's not) and at night (which it ain't). White Sox get rocked this afternoon (and then get to fly to NY (Oh what fun that will be)).

I played KC ML -138 and RL +155, one unit and half unit respectively.

These guy don't sit at home and cry after blowing a ninth inning lead.They may lose, but it wont be bc they lost the day before.
