Tommy Joseph is headed to the Phillies as part of the Hunter Pence deal, according to CBS Sports' Danny Knobler.
The Double-A catcher played in the Futures Game and just
turned 21. Pegged as San Francisco's fifth-best prospect by MLB.com,
Joseph hit .260/.313/.391 at Richmond prior to the proposed deal. He was
the Giants' second-round pick in 2009.

#20 Posted: 7/31/2012 2:04:41 PM A little late huh Giants? We pick up Beltran last year, he was mediocre. We let go Pence, he was smacking it. Now we let go Beltran, he's smacking em, and we get Pence which is a little above mediocre.
Still love it. Go GIANTS |

Phillies acquired RHP Seth Rosin, C Tommy Joseph and OF
Nate Schierholtz from the Giants for OF Hunter Pence and cash
considerations.
Rosin has a 3.80 ERA over parts over three seasons in the
minors, averaging 9.8 K/9 and 2.8 BB/9. The 23-year-old right-hander has
pitched both as a starter and reliever, so there appears to be some
question about his long-term role. He's not considered a top prospect.

#24 Posted: 7/31/2012 2:46:40 PM lol phillies guaranteed are not making the playoffs this year. The pitching ain't there, the chemistry ain't there. It's time to rebuild.
Good trade.
Still don't know why they gave up JA haap [sent him to houston to lose his confidence]
SF gets what they need to win another World Series. Their lineup doesn't need very much as IMO they have the best staff [Cain, Lincecum, Vogelsong, Bumgarner and Zito] in the league.
Not a big fan of SF but they are arguably the best team in the NL alongside St louis, I think this is a no brainer...

How do you figure that's a good trade for Phills? They gave up 4 prospects for Pence last year( two top notch prospects) and got 1 mid level prospect in return. And I don't think the giants are the best team in there division, let alone the NL |
