#1 Posted: 7/12/2012 12:11:57 PM Is this dead money. 14 games back at the break. Stranger things have happened.
Any feedback appreciated. |

#4 Posted: 7/12/2012 12:13:28 PM Bullpen has been atrocious, playing in the toughest division in the NL and being 14 games back is a very tall mountain to climb, that said the Cardinals seemed dead money until they made the playoffs on the last night of the season and then we all know what happened |

#5 Posted: 7/12/2012 12:27:49 PM I actually happen to think that's a great bet. The phillies will get Halladay back next week and Howard will be back most likely this month. If Halladay, Hamels, and Lee pitch like they can in the 2nd half, there's absolutely no reason the phillies should t snag a wild are spot or even the division. I expect Washington and New York to stumble in the 2nd half, so that would definitely open the door for the Phillies. If I can find 50-1 or better I'm going to take a shot as well. |

#7 Posted: 7/12/2012 12:56:12 PM Im biased because ive had a good chunk of change the last two years on them to win the N.L. and watched their bats just go ice fukn cold against any descent pitcher they face. With the way theyve started out and with their recent offensive ineptness id say this is like flushing money down the toilet. Even if they miraculously made the playoffs their bats will just freeze up again and they'll lose |

#13 Posted: 7/12/2012 6:36:00 PM the phillies have been an excellent 2nd half team these past few seasons, u can never rule them out with how many division games they have remaining, gonna be an interesting final 2 + months of the season..
my local book has 75-1 on them winning the WS, i threw 25 bucks on it, cause u just never know...who would have thought the kings, giants, cardinals would have won titles in the last year |

Truer words have never been spoken. The best I can find at any legit online book is 35-1. How can you possibly be getting 75-1?

#18 Posted: 7/13/2012 12:34:15 AM You know i was thinking and heres one good thing about this bet. If you take 35-1 for the N.L. or 75-1 (or whatever) to win it all if they just make the playoffs you have some big hedging/arbing/guaranteed profit opportunities at the very least. So while i still think theyre not gonna do much this season its not that bad of a wager if youre not going broke betting it. Also like another poster said the two wildcards does help as well |

#20 Posted: 7/13/2012 1:52:06 AM phils are done they are 1 and 10 since chase utley came back , and 0 and 3 since ryan howard came back, they are about to trade cole hamels , they could win next 13 games in a row and still only be 500, |

#21 Posted: 7/13/2012 1:56:43 AM they have 75 games left, if they go 50 and 25 which is winning 2 out of every 3 games the rest of the season , they only go 87 and 75 which still might not get a wild card . |
