#5 Posted: 7/10/2012 10:44:53 AM He got voted in as the starter, nothing that can be done about that. Just one of the stupid things about the all star game.
For Christ sake's, Uggla is starting at 2B for the NL. |

The voting process is stupid...all it is, is a popularity contest and highlights the fan bases that vote the most. Merit means nothing. If I were Uggla or Napoli, I'd pass on going. Especially Uggla, he it utterly useless and is somehow starting an all star game. |

#10 Posted: 7/10/2012 11:49:13 AM NoWorries21 is right. It's the dumb fan vote again. The fan vote is a joke, especially in the NBA. Looking at catchers, Napoli shouldn't even be there. Mauer, AJ, Wieters, even Saltalamacchia and Arencibia. I need to pick up a catcher for my pool - I'm looking at this Grandal kid in San Diego. |

#11 Posted: 7/10/2012 3:29:17 PM Hopefully Washington, who has had to suffer through watching a struggling Napoli (.228 ave.) go 4-33 in his last ten games, will mercifully replace Napoli with Mauer (.326 ave. including .378 since June 1st) after Napoli plays his required three innings, although I wouldn't count on it. After all, Washington is the idiot who chose Wieters (247 ave. with 12 home runs) over Pierzynski (.285 ave. with 16 home runs) for the third catcher spot. Washington said he felt White Sox catcher A.J. Pierzynski deserved to be on the roster. His quote: ''I consider him a winning player,'' Washington said. ''He beats you mentally, he beats you physically, so I feel really bad for Pierzynski.''
*****************************************************************************
To which Pierczyski retorted: ''If he felt that bad, he would have put me on the team. He had an opportunity to do it. He didn't do it.''
