#3 Posted: 4/12/2012 1:23:06 AM Gio is a great pitcher. I think this Washington team will be good this year, they have alot to prove in their home opener.. Washington really outplayed Cincinati last year at home in September outscoring them 18-5.. Gio struggled his first time out, I think he settles down a mows down Cincinati.. Latos is no slouch either I might some on the under as well.. BOL in whatever you play |

#12 Posted: 4/12/2012 1:42:47 AM I'd probably wait to see the umpire before making a move here. Gio's command deserts him at times and it could be a long afternoon if he gets an ump with a tight strike zone. Even the free-swinging Cubs were able to get him out of the game early by simply taking pitches. The Reds are a much more patient group. Tough game, IMO.

That has to be a very small sample size. He couldn't have faced many Reds unless in interleague play once or twice. |

sample size is too small for it to matter-- i agree. but also most of the reds haven't seen him too much...advantage pitcher in those situations usually. |

This is from MLB Daily Dish
Mat Latos, Cincinnati Reds: 4.2 IP, 7 H, 4 R, 2 BB, 4 K -
Not what the Reds hoped for from their supposed ace. Latos breezed
through the Marlins the first time through the lineup, but the Marlins
were on to him the second time around.
Gio Gonzalez, Washington Nationals: 3.2 IP, 7
H, 4 R, 3 BB, 6 K - Much like Sanchez, consistency has always been
an issue with Gonzalez. He's walked 183 batters the last two seasons,
which is absurd. Gonzalez showed that inconsistency against the Chicago Cubs. He will show his flashes of
brilliance, but it's start like this one that prevent Gonzalez from
becoming a bona fide ace.
