metalbill: Tigers started the day off nicely. I just love backing them with the Miggy/Prince combo. They're both insanely good. The rest of the team ain't bad, but you always know there's offense at 3/4. I don't know what's up with the Braves, but I figure it's just a couple off games. They're not great on offense, but it's only four games. I tend not to bet against streaks, but Hanson's been great, and he's by far the best pitcher the Stros will have faced so far. I have no problem fading Weiland here either, especially with the Braves just having seen him last week. I feel confident the Braves get their first win tonight. I'm not too surprised by the line given the dramatic difference in pitching talent. Also, keep in mind that 3 of last night's runs were unearned. The Braves are not going to have another four errors tonight. Teams just have bad games sometimes. That's why you don't go all in on plays.
fade_monkeyman: I don't know what you mean about having great feels. I always only bet games I feel confident in or think there's a big enough edge on. Most of these teams are going to be public plays the whole year. Doesn't mean they're not going to win most of the time. The Cubs are a decidedly not public play. The Indians are slightly. The Yanks, Tigers, Rangers, Kershaw and Hanson will almost always be public favorites...just part of backing good teams/pitchers. I think there's easily enough likelihood in their wins to justify every price I've taken.
I'll say right now, I'm going to back Verlander in every start this year barring some kind of major reason not to. That team is going to be virtually unbeatable with him on the mound. It will likely be a public favorite every time.

i don't think we will see verlander less than -150 -170 all year man. tigers bats are pretty much like the yankees. 1 through 9 unreal. i don't think the braves are as bad as everyone is saying, maybe they take a step back this year. too early in the season to get excited about much imo.
