an active professional athlete gets kidnapped at gunpoint at his own home and all anyone wants to talk about is the coach who followed guidelines properly and has been probably one of the most upstanding people in college athletics to ever live.

Being Wilson Ramos is why this isn't a top news story. I'm not putting down Ramos...but that's why "they" aren't talking about this.
