I posted this thread Sunday and it held true to push this trend 6-0 this season.
This season when the Nationals are put in a spot on the road to go above .500 they are 0-6 on the moneyline and 3-3 against the runline. Overall the Nationals are 3-11 in the attempt to go above .500 all 3 of those wins coming at home.

I'm an Astros fan and have done pretty well going against them, which doesn't say much about handicapping skills because anybody would be doing well betting against them. I thought your trend was interesting as I have never followed how teams fare when approaching a winning record. I looked into it a little further and think WAS is actually 3-12 when trying to break .500. I think the only problem with applying this today's game is that 2 losses were to PHI, 4 losses to ATL and 4 losses to PIT. That's 10 of the 12 losses to the #1, #2 and #4 teams in the NL. The other 2 losses were to LAA with Haren starting and COL with Jimenez starting. McDonald (PIT) has the highest ERA of all the starters they lost to at 4.42. J. Happ (HOU) has an ERA of 5.76. I'm taking WAS today, but GL if you decide to bet on Houston.

Im not trying to bash you at all but.... I really think stats like this are just coincidence. Im not saying it wont come true tonight... but if it does, i dont think it will have anything to do with some mystic force that doesnt let them have a winning record.
I swear, i see stats like these that get so rediculous.. lol
"The nats are 0-10 when the manager eats tacos for lunch, and he ate tacos today!"
All im saying is that i would not base a pick on a stat like that but then again.... hey! if its working for you, all the power to you! lol
Take care friend and GL

(959) WASHINGTON @ 960 HOUSTON 07/19/2011 - 8:05 PM
Play AGAINST HOUSTON using the money line in Home games against right-handed starters
The record is 6 Wins and 29 Losses this season (-23.75 units
|(959) WASHINGTON @ 960 HOUSTON 07/19/2011 - 8:05 PM
Play AGAINSTHOUSTON using the money line in All games against right-handed starters
The record is 17 Wins and 50 Losses this season (-29.65 units)
example #1 Hoston's winning percentage is 20.6%
example #2 Houston's winning percentage is 34%
My example Nationals winning percentage is 0%
Even if Nationals do win tonight, their winning percentage in this situation will be 14%.
Of course based on the line Washington should win this game 66% of the time. Washington backers have nearly all the right percentages in their favor, except for the inability to get over the .500 hump on the road. Which they have failed to do, when presented the opportunity every single time this season. However, this is the first time they will be given this chance against the Happless Astro's. Unless the Astros are Happful on the mound today. Ok that was lame.

Wouldn't it be funny if he eats tacos today and they lose.
I know what you mean, but couldn't this be a psychological hurdle for the Nationals? Or perhaps it is just a coincidence and they are a hovering .500 team. Sometimes they get over the hump and sometimes they don't. But for the most part they are not good enough.
