For Bautista's entire career through 2009, he averaged 1 home run for every 33 plate appearances.  Since 2010 (after turning 29), Bautista has averaged 1 home run for every 12 plate appearances.

Really?  C'mon man!

The scum bag media, today, is saying that the owners/everyone knew what was going on during the "steroid era" (which hasn't ended yet obviously) and they are a part of the blame.  The media suggests the increased offense should have tipped people off.  Well, why isn't this increased offense by Bautista tipped anyone off yet?  It's obvious.  MLB should be ashamed.

Please. He didnt get nearly as many at bats. He has been working on his swing like crazy. He has always been able to hit the ball but now he's finally seeing pitches. He is patient as HELL at the plate - waits for his pitches. He COULD just be a really really good late blooming ball player. If anything you should be ashamed of just assuming its steroids.

I don't think hes on steroids . You can't say things like that just because a guy's numbers improved . Maybe I'm wrong but I don't think that in the wake of all this players will just be doing it like its ok and he has the same physique even since . Didn't blow up like Bonds/Eric Chavez/Sammy sosa and so many of them ..

Come on Ricker?

Have you watched this guy?
He's got a work ethic better than anyone, and he lives and breathes baseball. This isn't the work of drugs, and its a shame that past mistakes by bums like Sosa, Ramirez etc. ruin it for guys who clearly are just at the top of their game!

Go J-Bau!!

Not saying weather I believe he's juicing or not, but i don't think that there is a such thing as a work ethic of durgs. People who juice tend to work harder than most. You can't just juice and sit back and things will happen. You can't put up numbers like Bonds did and not be a major student of the game. And also I wish people would stop thinking you can tell when someone is juicing by their body frame. Does anybody remember Mickey Morandini, the whole phillies team juiced, but guys like him get a pass because they aren't big. More pitchers than postion players were testing positive and how many HULK pitchers do you recall seeing. And lastly HGH is still not tested for. Football players still get busted, so to think all baseball players are done juicing is a bite Naive. And another if he is juicing or doing anything that he could be caught down the line for, what does someone like Bautista have to lose. He's gonna land a HUGE contract and for most people that will make doing whatever well justified.

Bautista's HR production has increased almost 300% after turning 29.  Never . . . . NEVER in his entire life until he turned 29 showed an ability to hit a HR per 12 AB.

You can call me a hater and you can even disagree with me if you want.  But, that ain't right and he's not doing it the natural way.

it's not easy to get away w/ steroid use anymore. Which is why your not seeing 60, 70 hrs being hit. There may be a couple players out there still juicing, who knows, but just because his numbers are up doesn't mean hes definitely on roids.

juiced or not. to me it dont matter. you still need to have a good eye and you need to have a smooth swing. its not easy hitting a ball coming at u 90+ mph trust me.

It just sucks that Marcum isn't there along with a few other guys. I remember how awesome Toronto was in the early 90's. I was big on this guy last year and I'm glad he's duplicating his work. Unfortunately every player that hits bombs now will be looked at closely....oh well keep mashing until proven otherwise

from what i read, bautista fixed the front leg kick/hitch in his swing and he is much better times now. most of his homers are line drives that keep c arrying, not big prince fielder moon shots. he doesnt have a home runs swing per se

Don't you think that due to the increase, he has been tested regularly? Of course not...you're an expert.

Well said. People were saying this last year. I'm sure he has been tested a few times since the end of next year.

People arent haters. They just have common sense. If it was just a matter of making a swing change to make such drastic improvement don't you think Albert Pulhos and everyone else would be making the same changes.

It's easy to get away with steroid use HGH is still undetectable. The only way you get caught is by ordering it on a credit card with your real name delivered to your house like dumbass Rodney Harrison.  Not even smart enough to have someone get his roids for him by a cash deal.
