Had TEX/TB UNDER as my play of the day. Had to sweat it out but we got home.
All angles point to NYY tonight with Sabathia going against the Twins lineup but this might be a spot where I will go against logic. I believe this is a MUST win for NYY knowing they have a shaky starting staff behind him. NYY is counting on two wins from CC so a MN win here would be huge for the Twins.
MN has made a living on beating some very good pitchers this year. That list includes Halladay, Price and Hernandez.
Obviously, Liriano is the key to the whole equation. Being from MN, I see a lot of Twins games and have seen Liriano pitch a lot. His numbers look better on paper than they do when you actually see the game. Key line drives hit right at someone have helped him tremendously. That being said, if he gets out of the 1st two innings unscathed, he can go a long way. He typically settles down.
Head says NYY, gut instinct says MN in a minor upset.
