TORONTO (Morrow) @ YANKEES (Nova) PICK: YANKEES RUN LINE -1.5 +140 Yankees are 1.5 games ahead of the Rays in the AL East. I have been really impressed by Morrow's ability to throw darts over the past month, but I am going fade him on the belief that he is not yet of the pedigree to continue at this level. The Yankees win today against the A's reminded me of the pure firepower of the lineup, so they can definitely take advantage of any miscues from BM tomorrow. Ivan Nova is a talent with a lot of promise. I don't know yet what to make of BAA of 0.273 (15 hits in 14 innings) but I love that he has walked only 2 while striking out 11.
TAMPA BAY (Garza) @ BALTIMORE (Millwood) PICK: RAYS RUN LINE -1.5 -130 (line appears to be mistakenly posted as Rays +1.5 -130 on WSEX right now). Rays are 1.5 games behind the Yankees in the AL East. Millwood has shown some improvement over his past few starts, but I still see a solid Rays win tomorrow.
WHITE SOX (Danks) @ BOSTON (Buchholz) PICK: RED SOX RUN LINE -1.5 +140 At the 30,000 foot level, I am generally looking to play the White Sox and fade the Red Sox the rest of the season. However, I do like the prospect of another strong outing from Clay Buchholz who can really toss his hat into the ring of an AL Cy Young award this year. The combined desperation of the Red Sox to win and that motivation of CB in pursuit of this individual accomplishment has me going with the Boston RL.
MILWAUKEE (Capuano) @ PHILADELPHIA (Hamels) PICK: PHILLIES RUN LINE -1.5 -120 It is hard to root for a professional who is really struggling to keep his place in MLB, but Capuano continues to be thoroughly overmatched when starting the game.
CINCINNATI (Arroyo) @ ST. LOUIS (Garcia) PICK: REDS +130 The individual stats say Garcia advantage over Arroyo, but I am overriding that initial analysis with the view that the Reds with the 8 game lead over the Cardinals will crush the STL hopes of an NL Central 1st place finish. I have seen way too many games where the Cardinals offense has been unable to back up the solid outings from their pitchers. I don't see the Reds losing their spot on top of the NL Central and this game and series should cement that.
TEXAS (Holland) @ MINNESOTA (Blackburn) PICK: OVER 9.5 The Rangers should have no problem pounding the soft-tossing lefty. And on the opposite side, I don't have much to say for Holland either.

One final game which I forgot to write up, as if the card wasn't big enough already . . .
WASHINGTON (Hernandez) @ PITTSBURGH (Duke) PICK: NATIONALS RUN LINE -1.5 +140 Livan Hernandez is coming off of two straight bad starts, but after watching this guy for decade, I am predicting that he and his rubber arm will come back and get the pitch location to keep the lowly Pirates from scoring too many against him. Whereas Duke can be a king against -300 favorites, he is usually quite peasantry against normal adversaries and he faces a Nationals team that can put up some runs. Zimmerman and Dunn we know about, but with Ian Desmond also starting to heat up, that's is an extra angle that has me on the Nationals RL.

UPDATE: I didn't expect Blackburn to come in and pitch the 13th inning for Twins. I am guessing that he won't start tomorrow after throwing 19 pitches, so my ticket will be "No Action" for the Rangers / Twins game and will re-evaluate after seeing the starters for tomorrow.

Well, the second day in a row that I got a nice Yankees RL win to start the day . . . let's see how this one finishes.
