They are my early lean for the Wild Card. I'm not a "fan" but I do like this team. I see them winning somewhere in the 80s. That pitching staff is just really good. Hanson looked like a stud and if he continues what he did...he's an ACE. Jurrjens is another ACE on that team. We'll have to see how Hudson can go with a full season after Tommy John surgery. We have to see how Kawakami's 2nd MLB season goes, but he was above average for the most part imo. on't look at that 7-12 record. And certainly don't look at Lowe's 4.67 ERA. He's like Arroyo. He can be really good and then have a game where he gives up 6+ runs and his ERA shoots up. That's a STRONG rotation to work with. But just like most teams who have very strong pitching staffs...their offense lacks a lot. McCann and Escobar are really the only ones who can totally be relied on. Glaus is in question. Jones' injuries are in question. Who knows how Melky will adjust. McLouth may be solid as well. But then the other questions that are there are Martin Prado and Matt Diaz who had good seasons (2nd halfs for the most part). But are they really good enough to come back with similar stats? Hard to believe. And then Brooks Conrad and Jordan Schafer are up and comers with potential. We have yet to see any of that potential but they still have chances. Schafer has a much bigger upside though and there isn't a question. Then of course there is Heyward is lurking. Only time will tell what he'll do. Chosen by some as the best prospect in baseball and there is a possibility that he comes up mid season like Hanson did last season. Not sure if he'll make an impact right away but there is always a chance he can dominate like Hanson. But I am excited to see him come up. And finally...for their bullpen...it's better than last season imo. I personally think Wagner and Saito (in the regular season anyway) are better than Soriano and Gonzalez.
That's how I sum up the Braves...for what it's worth.

That surprises me. You give hype to the Mariners because of their pitching...well the Braves' rotation is pretty solid as well. Jurrjens/Hanson can be the 3rd best 1-2 punch in the NL.
