Remember. If you took:
Phillies payroll
+ the San Diego Padres payroll
+ the Florida Marlins payroll
you'd still be $8 million short of the Yankees payroll.
It truly is the difference of earning a title, versus simply buying some rings...
With that said, both teams are truly deserving of being on this stage. Both teams lineups work pitching to the max. this will continue to be a great series of battles, one game at a time.
I live evenly between the two towns and have to say majority of the yanks fan want this title simply for relief. Relief and to gain back some diminished respect. They have underachieved more than any team, in any sport this decade. With the payroll they own, they should be going for title #72, not 27.
In the other corner, Philly is electric after bringing home the bacon last year. The Phillies, are the sports franchise, with the most losses in sports history. Another title will continue to change the mindset of this community from doubtful to confident. A win would also mend some of the healing from the other franchise to choke hard this decade, the Philadelphia Eagles. 5 NFC title games without a Lombadi trophy is exhausting for their hopefuls. The Phillies are masterfully turning this town's frown upside down.
May the best team win.. I hope thst everyone along for the ride bet with their head, and not their heart. Be smart and end enjoy a tremendous series. Good luck to all..
