Since I don't know how the players will react (to the cold) and how well the teams will play I am sticking to the strategy I've been doing the last 7 years. For the first 10 games I will be betting AGAINST Boston and ON Kansas City for 100 each game. The reasoning is simple - the Red Sox should be favored in every game and will need to start out 7-3 or better for me to lose money. Normally we'll see most teams go 6-4, 5-5, or 4-6. If by chance they do go 6-4 or worse I should make money. I'm looking for a slow start. On the other hand I'm also playing KC because if they go 4-6 or better I will at least break even because they will be dogs every game.
To a gambler baseball is not about having a winning W/L record and if we are selective betting dogs and go slightly less than .500 we'll make very good money.

Just wanted to bump this because both the Red Sox and KC have completed 10 games. KC started out nicely at 6-4 and the Red Sox struggled at 4-6. Tonight vs the Orioles the Sox got very, very lucky because they should of lost if the Orioles had any kind of pitching.
Anyway the combined record was 10-10 and +655. Understand if you go .500 in baseball playing dogs or short favs you'll win and my betting is a classic example......500 record up 6.55 units (1 unit = $100). The quickest way to go broke is playing big favs.
