NYI @ TOR: Wait, TOR is the favorite? Guess it's time for an end of the world party. I know the _should_ beat the pathetic Isles but their 1-8SU record on no rest would say otherwise. I feel kind of dirty picking NYI to win something but then they are playing the Loafs....time to cry in your Labatt's again, north of the border underachievers.
STL @ COL: Will the real Avalanche team please stand up? Hint: they did the other night against the Quax. Tonight is a different story. Getting Smyth back on skates is going to help morale immensely. Some of the scrubs they've had out there haven't been all that bad either. The key to reading the Avs injury report is to know that unless your name is Sakic or Stastny your injury istotally irrelevant to the results on the ice. Nothing is expected of those other guys so in their absence nothing is likely to change. Legace wasn't useless in his last game. There's a snowball's chance they win tonight but I'm thinkin the Avs are by far more desperate considering they actually have legitimate hope to make the playoffs. Pick COL, O5.5.
MIN @ VAN: Taking the last 3 days off (except practice) is bound to help the Wild. They were just plain beaten down after their b2b w/STL. Taking the night off in EDM surely helped. VAN finally picked up their 3rd win in ten games vs. the no-rest Hawks. While I'll readily admit that the home-town fan in me kept me off the Oil in MIN's last game tonight is all about business. Pick Wild.
EDM @ SJ: Playing w/o Marleau is going to take some adjustment and EDM looks healthier than they have win weeks...even months. Add these facts with SJ's home ice retardation and Pick EDM. Even if I didn't necessarily think the Oil were going to win this I wouldn't touch that much chalk for SJ @ home against any respectable (regardless what the W/L column may say) team.
