What do you guys think? The commentators mentioned the possibility today during the game as the Vancouver GM was in DC watching the Caps game. The Caps have been searching for a stud goalie for awhile now, shuffling between Vokoun, Varlamov, Holtby, Neuvirth, etc. With the shortened season, the seat heating up on Oates, this at least seems feasible.
What's everyone's thoughts on this? What would they have to give up to get Luo?

I don't know the Nucks can deal him right now. Cory Schneider has been looking extremely shaky. I think that they might hang on to him since this is a short season.
That being said...they would either give up Neuvirth or Holtby and a top 6 forward IMO.

I don't see why the Nucks would have any interest in the Caps goalies with Eddie Lack almost ready, can the Caps afford to give up a top 6 or blue chip forward ?

So, what kind of package could Washington put together? They’d probably start with Holtby or Michal Neuvirth (the Canucks would likely want a goalie in return with AHL starter Eddie Lack out for the year) and add in former first rounder Marcus Johansson, a talented pivot who has struggled to find his game this season, but might benefit from the influence of the Sedins.
Beyond that, I could see both sides adding another piece or two to tailor the fit. The Canucks would probably like to add a physical presence like Troy Brouwer, but they’d need to add on their end to make that happen.
It’s all speculation at this point, but this seems like more than just another rumor.

...the Caps do have some blue chip prospects who are considered "world class" talent,,,, I swear to god the last Russian to wear a Canucks jersey was Artem Chubarov,,,sh*t when was the last time they even drafted a russian.

I think Washington needs more then a trade for a goalie. Every time they showed behind the bench today he just looked lost and wasnt on the same page with his team. Ovechkin IMO isnt a leader and shouldnt have the C.

Goaltending has been very poor this season. That's not the only problem but it's a big one. I'm not saying it's going to happen but it at least seems feasible at the moment which is the only reason I brought it up. Intriguing at the very least...
