I agree and I REALLY can't figure out WHY they will "join the Devils @ Panthers in progress" instead of having one game on either NHL network OR CNBC ![]()
IF you cable company is anything like my DISH-TV, you need their 4th level of service (America's top 250) to even GET the NBC Sports channel (former Versus) ![]()

FYI - I just checked for the first time and the NJD/FLA game will be shown in FULL beginning at scheduled time on the NHL Network.
The OTT/NYR game is scheduled as normal for NBCSports (use to be VS)... I see no problem.
Each sports league has it's TV contract deals and even some teams have thier own which do not please everybody. Just ask any Flyers fan who has DirecTV.

Yep... and ever since ESPN dropped the NHL they have close to NO coverage... seldom do they have anything more than scores and a quick highlight or two... and maybe Barry Melrose to say something.

when ESPN was a relatively new network back in the early 1980's and they DIDN'T have ANY of the other three "major sports" and were mainly college football and baskets coverage. they covered the NHL very well. in fact, ESPN2 was started FOR NHL coverage
BUT as they picked up the NFL, NBA and MLB, NHL Hockey became a "orphan". they tried to "low ball" Bettman and the league their last contract BUT the then "Outdoor" network which became first Versus and now NBC Sports stepped up and out bid them. after some initial problems, I think the NBC Sports and NBC's related channels like CNBC do a MUCH better job of NHL coverage than ESPN EVER did.
it shows with ESPN's horrible coverage of the 1st round of the NCAA Hockey championships. they don't even carry half the games. I wish that NBC Sports would steal THAT from ESPN.
