Some interesting stuff going on for 4/5/12... including an entire morning of MLB  to wet the tastebuds all day long and conclude with an evening of unknown adventure with the full slate of NHL games.

Some interesting games to consider for pucksters are as follows...

Buffalo at Philadelphia - The game matters a little to Philly and a whole lot to Buffalo... both teams have defensive units playing as if pucks were on sale for Halloween. This is a gem just waiting to get snatched by the grasshopper from the masters hand... FIRST PERIOD OVER-1.5 GOALS... Did I say that loud enough...???

TampaBay at Toronto - The  playing the back end of a B2B and thier 3rd in 4 nights... TB has allowed 258 goals this season (next to last)... Leafs have allowed 275 goals this season( DEAD LAST by far)... Stamkos needs just TWO goals in TB's L-2 games and is in Toronto in front of family and friends...??? Hmmm... I'm thinking OVER-6 for the game... and Over in the 1st period also. And the TB-TT and TOR-TT Both Over as well... Do I really have to yell again...???

Can you say...... a 5-4 game!!!

Winnipeg at NYIslanders - INTERESTING STATS...!!! In the L-10 meetings between these franchises the Under has been set at 5.5 goals in each of the L-8 games and at 6 goals for the 2 games previous to those L-8 games. The UNDER-5.5 has won the L-5 and 6 of the L-7 times. Of the games at Under-6 goals... the Under was 1-1-0. HOWEVER... In the L-10 games that the Jets have played this season the OVER has won in 7 of those L-10 (thier L-game was o/u-5 and 9 goals were scored)... Now for the Islanders in thier L-8 games played this season the OVER was 6-1-1 with the push coming vs FLA in an o/u-5 game which was a 2-3 (SO) loss at FLA. The Over-5.5 loser was in thier last game played... a 1-3 loss at NewJersey. I don't know about you but given the situation here with two teams getting ready for golf season I can see a wide open game and plenty of work turning on that red light behind the nets. The OVER-5.5 seems like a gift in this game. I'd take it at Over-6 goals... and I just might for the extra mulla. The two teams have combined to allow 481 goals this season... That's a clip of 6.0125 a game combined... and that just the goals ALLOWED... not including the average that they score per game.... I see NO LESS than 7 blinking red lights in this one. Who cares who wins the game...??? Not Me. The Over-1.5 in the 1st period is also getting action from me. If this game was in Winnipeg maybe I'm not so confident... but this is a roadie for the Jets and even if the Islanders lead 4-0 in the 3rd period it might end up 4-4 in overtime with these Islanders... and these Jets... They will find a way to get those 6th and 7th goals.

NYRangers at Pittsburgh - The Rangers still have the President Trophy in mind... at least that's what I'd believe IF they start Lundqvist in this game. He did hurt his paw in the Flyers game but finished that game and seemed just fine. Aside from that, the only reason the Rangers have to win this is because they would love nothing more than to get back on the winning track one more time vs the Pens before the playoffs begin since Pittsburgh slapped the Rangers in the L-3 meetings this season. In those 3 consecutive wins over NYR the Pens outscored them by a combined 11-3 which included TWO muggings of the Rangers in the Big Apple (5-2 and 4-1). In between those Pens wins in NYC was a 2-0 Pens win at home. The Rangers won the first two meetings of the season (4-3 at home and 3-1 at the Pens). However this game may end is not my concern... but I'm thinking there will be a quick start to this one and an Over-1.5 in the 1st period ... For the Pens... the Over for the GAME has hit in EACH of its L-9 games... and the Rangers have scored...5...1...4...4...3...4... in thier L-6 games. I'll will play the Over-5.5 for the game as well... but I really like a fast start to this one and that 1st period Over-1.5 goals is my main play here. In the Pens L-9 games they have scored...5...4...5...3...3...5...4...5...8... goals.

Florida at Washington - It's a shame that someone has to win this game... Really it is. The Panthers have gone 1-2-2-3 in thier L-8 games and this is a team trying to clinch it's division and at least a playoff spot. With 2 games remaining they still are in danger of missing the playoffs completely if they lose both in regulation and the Sabres and Pens earn 4 points each. AMAZING... What garbage. With only 3 wins in thier L-10 games they have managed just ONE RegTime win of the 3 games... and that came at Philly and NO... I don't know how they managed to do that one because they did everything they could to let the Flyers win that game... The Flyers just could NOT shoot straight and into the net....(???) On to the Capitals now... They have managed just 4 wins in thier L-10 games having gone 4-4-1-1 in that span. WE ARE SUPPOSED TO BE TRYING TO MAKE THE PLAYOFFS HERE PEOPLE...!!! Maybe ya gotta say it in Russian...??? I don't blame Ovie for being tired because I'd be dragging my behind to the rink if I was banging Maria Kirilenko every night... ... Back to hockey now... Florida has played 6 of its L-7 games past RegTime and the Caps have played 4 of its L-7 games past RegTime. It's worth a shot to play the "goes into overtime" line for this game just based on that and these teams refusal to win games... PERIOD. As for the game, the total is set at o/u-5 goals and despite the refusal to try and win here... I think that someone will accidentally score at least 4 times with the 5th coming in the 38th shootout round... and that's a worst case scenario. The other wager that I like here is the Caps-TT-Over-2.5 goals since in the L-4 meetings held in DC the Caps have managed to score...4..3..5..3... goals against FLA... In those games FLA has only managed to score 4 goals combined and has been shutout the last 2 trips to D.C.(4-0 and 3-0)... both played earlier this season.

Montreal at Carolina -

Whaaaa... Oh... Sorry... Dozed off looking at this matchup... My Bad.... BUT... If you MUST play this game... consider past performance in simular situations...

03/30/2011 - Habs-2 AT Canes-6...

04/08/2010 - Habs-2 AT Canes-5...

Today's game = 04/05/2012 - Habs-? AT Canes-?

...Ya get my drift here...???

Season is over... Where are my Golf Clubs...???

Like I said... IF you MUST play this game... I'll pass

Boston at Ottawa -

O.K........ O.K........ ....... I'm trying to stay awake for this one... It's not easy ya know.

Tim Thomas did NOT make the trip to Ottawa so it looks as if we COULD see Anton Khudobin (Who-Da-Dobin...???) in the crease for the Bruins with Marty Turco on the bench... If not then just switch them around and put on your  so SMarty does not blind you with those PADS.(Hey Moe!!! I can't see Nuttin...Nyuck, nyuck, nyuck).

The Bruins have slapped the Sens around in 8 of the L-9 meetings but lost the last meeting 1-0 and it was in Beantown. Still... This is an absolutely meaningless game for Boston so I don't expect too much from them here. If I were Boston I'd send in some heavy hitters and soften up the Sens for the 1st round of the playoffs since this is most likely the matchup there.

The Sens need just a single point to guarentee NO LESS than the 7th seed. They most likely get that point here... and probably win this game... beat thier chests like badasses... then get mopped up in 4 games by the real Bruins in the playoffs. THIS GAME JUST DOES NOT MATTER TO BOSTON... I think it might be worth a shot at the Under if it's set at Under-5.5 goals. But I'll pass on this game as well.

NewJersey(+ML) at Detroit - I know that Wings backers and fans are all tickled about the Wings win last night at STL... Congrats... And I know they are saying "We (?) always beat NewJersey."... Yeah... Congrats on the past also... But don't tell me later that I did not warn you about THIS GAME...!!!

Let's just say... Brodeur took his iPod with him and the #1 song on it is...

"...I've got a Feelin... That Tonights Gonna Be a Good Night..."

 Dance Marty... Dance...

Gimmie NewJersey(+ML) in this one.

Remember... "When the time is right... The grapes get picked."

Dallas at Nashville(-ML) - This team from Dallas... with thier season on the line... in a H&H vs bitter rival SanJose... scores just 2 goals in 2 games...PERIOD.

(...and gave up 8 goals to SJ...)

That was vs Niemi... Now they get Rinne in Nashville... then a "pick your poison" tandem from the Blues in thier season finale at home in Dallas... Well... at least they will be home to wave bye, bye  and Thank the Dallas fans  for coming out this season.

The Preds will be looking to get some payback... even the season series... and send Dallas to the "Goofing" (golf) course... while earning two points and passing Detroit to move into the 4th seed in the West.

Did I forget to mention that NJ is gonna take down the Wings in Detroit...??? I thought I did... YES...!!!

It looks like the o/u is set at o/u-5 for this game but I'll avoid that because no telling how much quit Dallas will bring with them to Nashville... maybe a little... maybe  alot... But in the end it will not matter because Nashville will win this one and most likely in RegTime as well. I will try a slice of each from this game.

Nashville-ML and RegTime win as well.

Chicago at Minnesota - The Blackhawks control there own "6th seed" destiny right now... They can't be passed by anyone... and the 4th and 5th seeds are 2 and 3 points ahead of them so no need to try and struggle for something that's out of your hands anyway. For that reason I think that a Hawks play here is dangerous especially since they are on the road vs the recently "Hot girl" in the NHL who have been going around screwing people in several cities. That combination is a potential bad brew of puck-lovin  so I think it's best for Hawks backers and fans to keep it on the down-low and avoid anything that can cause itching, a rash, or burning sensations.

In other words... Don't screw around with a game you don't have to Player.

The last time this "Wild" girl was in ChiTown... you were found in your "Hoe-Tell" room with your hands tied to the post and your wallet was long gone.

Just keep a calm head and stay focused on the upcoming dance with the peeps from CALI.... You don't have to worry about the "Wild" girl anymore this season... and that girl is just waiting on a dog (Yotes) that's coming to beg for some Saturday night anyway.

Relax... Have some WingDings on Saturday night and by next week you'll be in Sunny CALI playing around by the surfside dude.

PASS... don't look at the "Wild" girl here... It's not worth it.

Columbus at Colorado - Does anyone really want to risk anything by siding with the B___J__'s here in this game...??? Yes they have been a wonderful underdog play at times this season and won 3 of thier L-4 (5 of L-9) but the season is actually coming to an end and you have to think that they are bound to have another blooper of a game if they let down just a little.

Is it really worth the risk here vs a Colorado team trying to keep its head above water and playing to stay alive for thier playoff hopes...??? The Av's need to win this game and again on Saturday at home vs Nashville and for the Kings to defeat SanJose in RegTime in BOTH games of thier H&H series and season finale vs the Sharks. I think SJ will manage to win game 82 after losing game 81 so Colorado is most likely toast for the playoffs... But I think Colorado will give it thier all in this game until the bitter end.

The Av's have won just 1 of thier L-5 games, earning just 3 points but they battled hard on the road in 3 of those losses. They do have some good hockey left in them... just too little too late.

The Av's have been off since March 30th while Columbus has played 2 games since then, both on the road (1-1). I just don't see a reason to back either team here unless you want to let it roll  and see if the roulette wheel lands on your team. Colorado has won 8 of the L-10 meetings but lost 2 of the L-5 including a 0-2 loss at home in the last meeting on 3/1/2012... but just one week previous to that game, Colorado spanked the BJ's 5-0 in Ohio. So where do you go with this game...???

Not even the o/u has any potential here in my opinion. It's been set at o/u-5.5 for each of the L-10 meetings and is 5-5 in those games. The UNDER has hit 3 of the L-4 meetings but in two of the games there were 5 goals scored... so why risk anything here.

If you have been happy with the BJ's so far... keep your money and memories... If you feel the need to support the Av's last ditch playoff try... Go Ahead... but don't be surprised if they come out flat and spoil your dreams and your coin stash.

The potential for in this game out weights any potential reward and there are much better plays out there tonight.

PASS the pepperoni pie... I don't like this fishy garbage pizza here.

Vancouver at Calgary - The Canucks will know by the start of this game whether or not the Rangers have a shot at winning thier game tonight at the Pens. IF THE PENS are handing the Rangers another loss in thier regular season series finale, then the Canucks will have much more motivation to win this game. If the Rangers are on thier way to a win, then the Canucks might just go through the motions when they take the ice. I know this is a heated rivalry and that the Canucks are the better team but to me this game only has value if you are a fan of one of these teams.

Vancouver has won thier L-7 games overall and only allowed 10 goals in those 7 games(4 by the Ducks in the most recent Nucks win). Vancouver has won 7 of the L-10 meeting vs Calgary and 6 of the L-8... Calgary is just 1-8 in it's L-9 games overall (1-3-2-2).

So why is the line just VAN (-150) here...??? There's a reason... and I already told you part of it... here's the rest.

Calgary has actually won 2 of the L-3 meetings this season.

The total is set at o/u-5 goals for this game and was that for the L-2 meetings which both Pushed at 5 goals. The previous 8 meeting were set at o/u-5.5 goals and the Over went 5-3 with one game having 5 goals and two having 4 goals. So to me the total here at o/u-5 goals is not worth a play.

In the 5 meetings so far this season VAN has scored... 5..5..1..2..3(OT-W) goals while Calgary has scored... 1..1..3..3(SO-W)..2 goals... so MAYBE a play on the VAN-TT-Over-2.5 just MIGHT be worth a shot.

The only other play would be a VAN-PL play but recently VAN has had 8 of thier L-10 games decided by just 1 goal.

So unless you are a fan... then the VAN-TT-Over-2.5 is the only way to go with this semi-exhibition game.

Maybe a play on VAN-RegTime-ML also.

I'm undecided here and will wait for more information.

Anahiem(+ML) at Edmonton - I like watching the Oilers play BUT I'll make this short and sweet...

The Ducks have won 8 straight games in this matchup when played in Edmonton...!!!

I know the Oilers are decent and have been winning lately but how can you pass up on a dog line play like this...???

Neither team has quit playing hard... but the dog line for the Ducks is a joke to me.

The total is set at o/u-5.5 goals which has gone under in 5 of the L-6 meetings no matter where played. The Under-5.5 has won the L-4 games played in Edmonton in this matchup.

UNDER-

I'll take the bait and back the boyZ from the hood from SoCal here... Anahiem(+ML) and I'll also take that Under-5.5 goals as well.

Yes... I'm burned out from doing this... BUT... I realized that this is the last chance I'll have to do this for the regular season. Friday has just one game... and I won't be able to do big write-ups for the full slate of games on Saturday, the last day of the regular season...

...so this is IT... FINAL... Finished... El-dun-4-now-oh... (That my best Spanish  sorry).

Nothing left for me to do except to post my parlays later on today... See you then...
