YES - I'm a Kings fan and backed them tonight... That is not the issue here.
There is NO WAY that a goal like that should be allowed.
The player was unimpeded in his direction towards the net...
He adjusted his skate to deflect the puck(NOT STOP)...
It did NOT touch his stick...
And STILL after a replay it is allowed...
WHY...???
This is not soccer... or is it...???
Crap like this just gets me going. I don't care who scores the goal. That is as blatant as it get's for being directed into the net. I understand the rule calls for disallowing "kicked in goals" but give me a break... WTF is the difference...???
It is scoring intentionally with the FOOT/SKATE.
The skate was MOVING in a FORWARD motion towards the GOAL and purposely directed into the net.
They will NEVER do a single thing about this because they want MORE scoring for fans but that is pure GARBAGE no matter if by my teams (Flyers, Kings) or by the hockey gods themselves.
There was NO other player within 6-8 feet of the guy who scored and replay captured it CLEARLY being directed in by the skate.
As a fan of the game this makes me sick to know the playoffs are coming up and they are permitting teams to score like this despite proof it was unsportsman like.
Pure Garbage Goal... a non-hockey... soccer type of goal.
BULLSHIT!!!!!!!

This is what happens when buildings cheat and stop their play clocks so their teams can score late in games against teams like Columbus to steal points they don't deserve.
What goes around comes around bro...
This is NOT about any specific team PB... I see this too often and have strong feelings about this game of soccer... errr... hockey.

I saw a play like this on tv last week where it was allowed as well, and the offcial NHL rules is that you can deflect the puck with your skate even while moving but you just can't make the kicking motion which he didn't do

JLoser... You made only 167 post since 2010 and 3 of them here... I'm not interested in whatever you have to say so do us all a favor and say it somewhere else.
This is about hockey... Not being a rude drunk.

that has been called a goal for awhile now. you can direct the puck towards the goal now as long as you arent kicking.
Yes.. I am aware that it has been allowed... That is my point. What is the difference between kicking it in and directing it in with a skate with intent...??? same result... in off the foot and on purpose. His foot was MOVING forward and he directed it in. Same as kicking... same result.

ya u definitely got a point there skubishack, it's hockey and goals should be scored with the player's stick and not their skate... but that's just how it is for now and unfortunately we got no choice but to deal with it

I know... been watching hockey for 40+ years now and it has always bothered me how they change rule to create more scoring but allow things like this that have no place in hockey. I wrote a whole thread once about how this kind of "allowed goal" can cause injury to skaters and goalies and about how it's not a hockey play but rather a soccer play, etc, etc, etc.
I could go on about it forever but it will not change... until something draws a huge amout of attention to it... like say...
... a deciding goal in a game 7 of the cup finals!!!!!!!
Would it be allowed then or would we see a complete review like we did when Brett Hull score to win a Cup for the Stars while his frigging TOE was on the crease line...???
I love this game... and I love great goaltending... but that was an indefenseable goal since the goalie is zoned in on the puck and stick... not the feel/skates.
This was as blatant as it gets... that is why I had to post about it.
Just urkes the heck out of me to see these kind of goals allowed on any team in any game.

Skubishack it seems indeed that you are complaining about it only because you had money on the Kings... Like someone above mentioned the Kings have cheated with their clocks in order to benefit their team so they're a bunch of dirty cheaters in my opinion anyhow.
I had Money on Boston so I'm glad the goal counted... You cant complain about discrepancies in the game when the Kings are the leagues biggest culprit for them

You're correct... That goal should not have happened at all since there was a pause in the clock which could be timed to show the game had ended... but you can start another thread for that... This one is about scoring goals off of thge skate/foot which IMO should all be illegal... for EVERY TEAM also.
Did I write that large enough this time...???
And I already stated that this is NOT about the teams in this game... rather that it was a perfect example of a intentionaly directed goal off the skate/foot of a player which should not be legal because thsi is not soccer... read what I've posted first.
This was in the post right above your first post here...

Bettman is the problem. He doesn't have a clue what he's doing. There is NO other sport where an illegal goal (as you mentioned - the Brett Hull goal where his skate was clearly IN the crease) is going to hold up as the championship winner. Sure, baseball has plays like the Dekinger mistake that MAY have impacted a World Series, but the NHL is a joke when you have goals that cost a team a shot at a title.
As for the goal in question - I haven't seen the hilight, but they aren't exactly consistent in calling them. Was there a kicking motion? If not, they ALWAYS allow those goals. Which is a joke.

This is what happens when you sports bet. You get some breaks and you lose some breaks. Just the way it is. Definitely can't factor a kicked in goal into your research. Shit happens!!

wasn't even kicked, big difference going to the net puck comes a cross and banks in off skate than swinging your leg back and pushing the puck foward with the skate
