I don't like the fact that this will be the 4th game in 6 nights for the Blues but they'll actually have a full day and a half rest before the drop of the puck tonight. I figured if St Louis was going to lose a game, it would have been in Winnipeg but they were fortunate to pull out a victory. How can one take the Flames right now against a St louis team who is scoring twice as many goals as they've given up over their last 9 games? I don't care whose in net for the Blues as Elliot and Halak have both been hot and the Flames only have Iginla and Jokinen who are consistently producing right now. These two teams haven't played each other in 3 months so head to head stats aren't as significant which includes Calgary's 3-1 home victory back in late October. St Louis is a bad matchup for Calgary at this point as St louis is one of the best two way teams in the league and they've only given up 125 goals this season and they have 9 players who have over 100 SOG this season while Calgary has given up 170 goals. St Louis' style will provide a lot 2nd chance scoring opportunies against a Calgary team who has a difficult time controlling the play in their defensive zone. Calgary's defense flat out blows. The depth of Calgary is also at a disadvantage against a St Louis team who has 3 productive lines, two scoring lines and a 3rd line who has been excellent, defensively, producing +10 on the +/- ratio. Backes, Oshie, Perron, Berglund and Arnott will make things tough on Calgary tonight.
