Boston -165.... What gives???

Question

Boston playing .500 hockey L10 and is 8-17 last 25 games in Buffalo..... Plus the Sabres seem to be putting together winning 3 of last 4 after a horrendous January.

also found it wierd the Under 5.5 juiced to -140 when these two teams haven't chased an under ticket in the last 11 meetings.

trend bettors have to be eating up the Sabres at +155 and the Over 5.5 @ +125

Vegas can put out this line and still get Boston action. They prob are around this price but I&#x27;d look at Boston &#x2B;1/2 in regulation at home with Miller.

The status of Hecht and Vanek have to play a huge role here. Rask has been great lately and those two guys are key against Boston. Vanek seemingly scores at will against Boston.

On the face the line looks high but when you consider one team is in the top 3 of the NHL and the other is bottom 5, it makes sense.

Let&#x27;s put it this way...-165 implies Boston wins this game 62% of the time. Is it fair to say that&#x27;s far off? Especially without Hecht and Vanek? Buffalo has been better of late. If you don&#x27;t think that&#x27;s a blip, take the dog here. But I still see a superior team on the other side, without question. There may not be any value left at -165 though, I won&#x27;t argue that.

one stat that does help Boston is that they have owned their division this year, i believe something like a 11-2 or 12-2, but ya seems a little high on the road.

buffalo is one of those teams that i would never lay cash on. i've faded them all season and they have only burnt me once/twice. even if the B's are playing .500 hockey the last few weeks and the sabres have won 3 of last 4 i'd still play the B's. In reg. to remove the juice.

All about public perception, IMO. Fully agree with what neverlayoff said about the books being able to still get plenty of action on Boston. Let's not forget that the lines are put out based on how the books can get a good amount of action on either side, and not on what WE might think a team is worth.
