Interesting. This bit of news can change the entire playoff complexion in the conference. Thomas would certainly solidify the Blackhawks' chances of coming out of the West. I like the Blackhawks to do some damage in the playoffs, but Crawford probably doesn't scare a lot of teams. Adding Thomas would make them even more of a contender.

If the Bruins decide to shop Thomas, look for Philly to be a front runner as well.

Spart do you really think they would ship him somewhere in the Eastern Conference? I would think if he was traded it would be out west.

I dont think Boston is going to trade him and I highly doubt it would be to Philly lol.

Thomas in Chicago? Obama's home town and favorite team? Too funny.

I doubt that Thomas is going anywhere. you watch him in the All-Star game? the guy was playing like it was the Stanley Cup Finals. he's the "honey badger" of NHL goalies. the fucker just HATES to LOSE at ANYTHING.

I say why carry two starting goaltenders and Rask is playing better than Thomas.  Although that is no promise he will keep doing so.

Remeber that Thomas will be 38 this year. Although he's just eating up 5 mil on a cap hit.  Also he has a clause where he can't be traded or assigned to the minors before 7-1-12.

Rask will be a RFA next year and this year he is only a 1.25 million hit on the cap this year.

I don't think it's a horrible idea to trade Thomas at all.  You could still get some very good value for him.

I think the bruins would be crazy not to trade Thomas..... They have to go with Rask sooner or later... I would ship Favre..... errrrr I mean Thomas out west and hope you don't see him in the finals.

they(bruins) attempted to hand rask the #1 position before and did not like the finale.as good as he is, it is easier to be a great #2 on a championship calibur team than it is to be the main man! i think the bruins would be stupid to trade him while they are defending thier cup!(although would get more now) but not while defending, it is to hard to get there! but if did happen i would jump on the hawks futures before the number went down, because that is the only question mark they have.

That starting role is sorta of blurred now.  In the past two months, Thomas only has one more start than Rask.  Or make that one more goaltender of record than Rask.

Thomas doesn't move. This Obama thing is blowned out of proportion. You think the Bruins trade their raining playoff MVP. No way. They roll with 2 goaltenders in the playoffs and make a run again. This is a very good team and nothing major changes at the trade deadline. Remember in this new NHL a team doesn't contend for the cup a lot of years.
