If Buffalo loses tonight is Lindy almost out the door ?

I think so, of course there are injury problems, but what team doesn't have them now.  I believe it's time to make a change, the players have tuned him out.  If not then they need to overhaul the team.  But much more easy to change the coach.

What do all of you think.  Let's have some good discussion about it.  Let's hear from some Buffalo fans.

Being a life long Sabres fan, I believe the roster is the issue with this team.  Outside of Paul Gaustad, Thomas Vanek, Jason Pominville, and Robyn Regehr, none of these players play with any kind of intensity or determination.  They seriously play like they are playing pick up hockey and none of them like to go into the dirty areas and grind out pucks.  Tyler Myers should be killing guys with how big he is.  Ryan Miller IS a one year wonder!  His numbers outside of his all-world season a couple of years ago are average at best.  Derek Roy has a lot of talent, but he disappears when it matters the most.  Patrick Kaleta could be a terrific little hockey player if he wasn't such an idiot!  Drew Stafford has completely gone away after he got paid.  The list goes on and on.  Ever since Briere and Drury left, this core of players has failed miserably.  When they failed to beat the Flyers in the playoffs last year, I knew this team would never go anywhere with these players together.  They couldn't beat the Flyers with that goaltending they got!!  Seriously??!!  Pathetic!  Time to start rebuilding.  I would fire Darcy Regier before Lindy Ruff, but I say get rid of them both.  They need new direction with fresh faces, and players that play with heart and grit....the way the game is supposed to be played.

  ..... I would agree most intelligent Sabres fan don't want Ruff out of town, he is a great coach. Reiger is a different story, and I also agree drivetime, Drury was the heart and sould of this team, he was a winner that kept everyone of those youngsters accountable, when he left it has been downhill since. Miller is a good goalie but like most goalies is a head case, when things go bad for goalies like that, they go real bad!

I honestly had this team pegged to fight the Bruins for first in the Northeast Division.

They have had more than their share of injuries but the goaltending has been atrocious and injuries or not...they have too much talent on the roster to be doormats right now. It seems their play has become worse as they have gotten a few players back.

I agree Reiger overpayed for some players since the new owner gave him carte blanche...but Lindy has been there for so long...I think it has become stale. He is probly hanging on since they have had a recent history of making solid runs at the end of the year.

I think a shake-up is in order and fairly quick. I don't believe Ruff will make it through the year unless a turnaround is immediate. The Leino signing was awful but I like Pomminville...Roy...Gaustad and Vanek. They are the core and maybe they are not listening to Ruff any more????

Kaleta certainly is not getting the message (undisciplined) and Miller has seemed to be on the verge of checking out of the whole program.

Hard to see a coached being let go when he's been around about 14 years with Buffalo. Lindy seems to have 9 lives and has gained carte blanche with his tenure. The current owner is a big hockey fan and suave business man, and I don't see him firing Lindy mid-season. Especially if you go back and watch the pre-season press conferences with the owner and Lindy talking future plans and so on. It is amazing that Lindy has lasted this long, but the general consensus is that he has always done well with what he's been given as far as players.

The firings of all the coaches this year is rather ridiculous if you ask me. Especially seeing guys like Boudreau switching teams because of the supposed idea that players need a new voice and lose respect for someone. You're either a good coach or not. However, some teams have rich pricks with enough power who can get coaches canned if they are tight with the GM or ownership.
