Canes might be a good play tonight...Here is why....

I was just reading that Luke Richardson's daughter is being buried today and then the team is flying down to Carolina for it's game against the Canes tonight. You have to wonder how focussed they will be for this game after attending the 14 year old's funeral who commited suicide the other day.

I would just like to add how bad I feel for the Richardson's family and it is a shame that this poor girl felt that she had to take her life at such a young age.

It is really hard to believe that life could be so bad for a 14 year old that she would have to do such a thing. Very upsetting to say the least. 

This news is Like sticking a knife in your heart.

Exactly, I see this being biggest motivation a team could get before a game. It has happened several times in many different sports. Such tradgedies seem to fire up a team with emotion usually never felt before. im on the Sens, was on them before i knew of this news. Makes me even feel stronger about my bet after hearing it

Thoughts and Prayers to the richardsons and the hole Senators organization as im sure they are all feeling the effects.

IMO there is nothing inspiring about being at a funeral for a teamates young daughter.  I do believe their minds will be elsewhere at times during this game. 

The inspiration came against Boston on Saturday night when they held a ceromony for Luke. Nothing inspiring about attending an AM funeral for a 14 year old girl and then jumping on a plane for a 2 hours of travel and then playing the game. Makes for a very long day with meals, practice ect being all mixed up.

I can't EVEN imagine what that family is going through.

Good info, thread. and angle. Terrible news, no way a team can recover from that type of emotional swing on the same day.
