Is Brodeur past his prime?

He's by far my favorite goalie but i'm a biase east coaster.I'm starting to wonder if he is past his prime.Brodeur was injured bad last year and only played in 31 games.When he returned he posted a 19-9-3 record with five shutouts, a .916 save % and a 2.41 GAA.Do you think he'll have a good season this year? Is he past his prime or does he still have some good years left?

Marty still has it, only problem is this year he is going to have to play less games due to the Olympics, very demanding on the 39yo. What separates the good from the greats is nerves and instinct and he's got both. He's a stud but has to take a few extra games off due to condenced schedule.

He isnt in his prime but he isnt finished if thats your real question.

Past prime for sure. Great goalie yes still better than average + great team in front of him

Answering the real question yes he has Good years ahead and he will be good until he retires. Maybe not the best but for sure above average

They have to give him more rest. This 70 game stuff has to stop this year and I think it will   It will be interesting to see how much Luongo plays this year also. Being 30 now and after his injury last year they may cut his load back to 60 games this year. 
 
Don't forget that with the break this year there will be an even greater grind on the goaltenders.

It is far from a sure thing that he will be Canada's starter. H ejust might collect splinters.

He didnt play 70 last year.

I think he had a bad game 7 but he was good in that playoff series...44 save SHO in game 7

the team in front of him got worse though

I'm with Lipps.

Take the Flames and Kiprusoff, for example. The man started 76 of 82 games last season. The other 6 were started by McElhinney who got his first and only win on the final day of the season.

What happens in the playoffs? The Flames go down in the first round in 6 games. Kipper posts a 3.52 GAA and .884 save %.

If you saw that game he played against the Rangers the other night you wouldn't make this thread.  Like a 52 save shutout with Gaborik blasting away at him.

 

NO he is not past his prime.
