He's really good but not a Great player, that why Celtics don't win it all this year, not gonna happen..

Nah man you missed the point the guy OVERALL (playoffs and reg season) is just really good but not Great and the distinction is Hugh b/w the two.

Also regarding your comment to stop posting "these stupid threads" there is no way you'll ever get me to stop voiceing my opinions, but I always appreciate constructive criticism of my perspectives, especially from steller cappers...

Who in your opinion is "great" and "elite?" NBA players at the moment.

Great=CP3, King James, Kobe, Parker, Duncan, Billups, Rip, Ginobili

Very Good=Garnett, Pierce, Bosh (a shade under great)...

I'll add to the list...

Did i read Duncan, Billups, Rip, Ginobli, Parker,  in the GREAT SECTION?  Stop playing!!!  A GREAT player can play in any team in the league and carry it...  Neither of the above can do so...

honestly dont think hes a "great" player either.  you have to be able to carry your team when it matters hes not proven to be able to do that.  important to note that hes probably about at the end of the road.  hes the first in the high school wave of players, i think you are going to see these guys retire in their early 30s.  the nba season is much more long and greuling then the college season, only thing he has going for him is he has not been a part of a lot of playoff games which would have shortened his career even more.

Well said. If he was considered over rated why did Bill Russell one of the greatest players in Boston and of all time. Tell Garnett that if he didn't win a ring he would share his with him? Tell me what other player out there has ever received such a compliment from a great player.???

Is Garnett the best player in the NBA? No. Although, he is getting older, he's still a top ten player.
 
You lost all credibility when you stated Billups and Rip are great, Garnett is only good. Your scale is out of whack.

Billups.Rip,Ginobili Great? CP3 is a fantastic young player but Great? Just curious whats ur qualifications for great. And i do believe KG is a top 10 player still.

Is a ring the only thing that matters when determining whether or not a player is great? Just because the Celtics don't win doesn't mean he won't be added to the top 25 or whatever players in NBA history. We have our views and the NBA has theirs. There have been a number of "great players in the NBA who have not won a ring. George Gervin, Rick Barry, Dominque Wilkins, Patrick Ewing, Elvin Hayes, Isaiah Thomas..just naming a few. Even though when you consider that you have to take the persons position into consideration. He will be there....

Garnett = only great player on the Celtics. I've voiced my opinion of the Celtics a lot and I think Pierce and Allen are two of the most overrated players I can remember, but Garnett is BETTER than great. He's a top 5 player in the game along with Kobe, LeBron, Duncan and Howard.

I'm a big fan of how the Pistons play ball and think each player on that team is underrated, but Hamilton and Billups are not "great" players. They are very good, but neither could go to a bad team and dominate. They are a part of a great team, but what makes the Pistons great is the fact that every starter on that team is a very good, unselfish player that can play a role other than scorer, but can also step up to be that scorer on any given day. Garnett brought a crappy team like the Wolves to the playoffs several times all by himself. That to me makes him a great player.

Agreed...Dan Marino never won the Super Bowl, but he is still the best QB of all time.

The whole team is overated if you ask me. They have 3 stars, can't win on the road and they lost an important game at home

kg has only led his team to 1 conference final b4 this year. his over all track record in the plyoffs is round 1 and dun. yea hes got pierce and allen now, but if you have to give some one the ball at the last minute too win a game, the celts will not give it to kg. hes not a big game player.
