Lakers @ Wolves

Great great spot for the Lakers. Wolves coming off big blow out win over a pathetic Pistons team. Last time these two played Lakers let a big lead slip away although they did come out victorious. Now the Lakers have their backs against the wall with the Mavs and Jazz right behind them for that 8th spot. Kobe and the boys will def be up for this one, since they are on a 3 game skid and know they don't have much room for error. Some might say that was the same spot against GS. But put it this way, Minnesota is no GS at home. The Wolves are getting healthier but I think the Lakers Answer Dantoni challenge.

Lakers -5. May take first half as well as I expect them to come out hard.

I don't know. Wolves look pretty solid right now. buddinger is solid.

Lakers have won the last 21 meetings with Minnesota, World Peace is out, but Lakers -5 still looks like a good play to me

Kobe and Dwight are angry. Steve Nash can actually guard Ridnour. Even with World Peace out we might see more Jamison. And Gasol is due for a bug comeback game after two sluggish outings. Gonna be shaky as usual but with Utah playing Phoenix you gotta think the Lakers don't take this game lightly.

Kobe Bryant said the Lakers "have to figure out a way to get" Dwight Howard more involved in the offense.

Howard has back-to-back games of fewer than 10 shot attempts. He went 4-of-8 on Monday for 11 points, and he simply has to be a bigger part of the equation for the Lakers to fire on all cylinders. "Over the last couple games, we have yet to get Dwight in the pick and roll action and get him some touches and easy opportunities," teammate Antawn Jamison added. It would be good if the Lakers started to get Howard more involved on Wednesday against the Timberwolves.

Agreed im with you 100% Lakers in a No lose situation here It's all or nothing for them here. watch kobe dish it to howard early and then the take over in the 4th when kobe is doin kobe! bench also comes up big with meeks and clark. steve blake in on the action to. but howards gettin 20-25 and 15 boards tonight!

Bench?? Meeks starting at 2guard - kobe playing small forward.

Los Angeles hasn't lost to Minnesota (25-44) since a 117-107 double-overtime road defeat March 6, 2007. The 21-game run is the longest current streak in the NBA of one opponent beating another and the second-longest ever for the Lakers, behind their 24-game streak over the Kansas City/Sacramento Kings between 1983-88.

Barea and Rubio will run Nash all over the court.   Howard won't be stopped, but he wont go ape crap against a pretty solid center in Pekovic.

I don't think being emotionally up for games has been the Lakers problem.  They are just not a good team.  Bad chemistry.

Steve Nash will be covering point guards, which will be Rubio and Barea.

What is the point of stats like these? The teams change every season and it's a small sample size

The oddsmakers agree with you 100% there, and that's why the line is 6 points different for this matchup.

The Lakers are 13-23 on the road, and their spread record is even worse.  How could any road game for the Lakers be considered as a "great spot"?

That hopeful thought is negated by the fact that this team is a defensive sieve. Only once in their last dozen games have they successfully held an opponent under 50 points in both halves.

He called them out after the pathetic blown lead home loss to the Wizards.  They responded by getting crushed in the first half of their next game.  Why have any faith that they can respond?

The Lakers have covered seven of their last 10 and gone OVER the total in their last six following a loss. The Lakers have covered six straight games in Minnesota.

Wow, now I really wanna unload on Minnesota.

As a Laker fan I will probably be betting Minny and hoping

The Lakers held the T-Wolves to 46 points in the first half.....and then allowed 71 in the second half.  They're a sieve!
