Back on 11/30 I won finally won a 2-teamer risking 1k to win me 2600, it was on the UCLA/Standford football game, I took UCLA and the over...here is where the problem comes in..I called heritage back after I won because they dumb behind forgot to credit me the western union fee, and this is after I declined it when I called to give them the MT#  they asked me a second time if I wanted to bonus so I accept this time because I had just won nearly 3k and they stick me with a rollover and I lose everything

how much do you earn man? If you are on 100k+ per year and have no big commitments (house, wife, kids) then its ok. But if you are spending half your yearly income, you need to reduce your wagers.

This stuff is designed for us to lose, otherwise they would no longer be in business.

The thing with all gambling is you have streaks. When on a good streak you need to take advatage of it and go large but you need to remember the shiit streak is only one bet away. always have enough there to absorb the bad streak until you are on a good streak again.

and stop putting big money on parlays man! So many times one will not hit. You are better just to play 1 or 2 solid plays per day.. even buy points if you have to to give you more chance of winning... if you are betting that large, you will still win quite a bit back even odds of 1.50...

I know I started betting more this time because I was trading futures and making and losing 5-10k a day...it really changed me. No, I dont make more than 40k annually, on top of that, I lost my job so now I have burned through all my spending money and only have enough to pay my bills for the remainder of the year...I am quitting today and going to seek help

I know how bad it feels dude being on a bad streak. Ive lost heaps at points in the past and you fall into a hole of trying to get it back.

The way you need to think is... whats done is done. Its the past, history. Make yourself a better person by learning from the experience. We do a lot of dumb things in life and its all about learning dude. Where you will go wrong is if you continue to make the same mistakes.

Take a few days off and re-focus. And if you do decide to continue gambling just go small.. 50-100 bets. Find a few guys on this forum that have good records and just tail them and try build a balance from scratch.

Just DO NOT allow it to consume you. only spend money you can afford. no grocery, rent, petrol money, etc. Whenever you place a bet just think to yourself that you will most likely lose that money.... that way you will think clearer and not have the false expectation of winning... and if you do win.. its bonus money.

Good luck man.. you will be ok. Just remember - learn from the experience.

U gota stop doing parlays. They are a sucker bet. Yes the occasional money line parlays are fine. But parlays teasers etc are sucker bets. The books wouldnt offer them if they didnt have the advantage. Yes the payouts look tempting and im not saying once in a while dont take a shot with a parlay if ur up money but if u are just betting 2 an 3 team parlays u will not win

Don't EVER BUY POINTS! It's a complete waste of money. Especially in basketball. I don't care how many times you think it helps you, in the long run its a losing proposition. Trust me, I know bookies and they all tell me the same thing. You have to be crazy to buy points in basketball.

Thank you all for the words of encouragement. I know parlays are sucker bets. I normally would not be dropping 1-2k on 2-team parlays, it's just that when I started trading futures again i was making and losing nearly 10k in a single day. I actually had a profit of 20k with the trading and at this time I was not betting sports, but then one of the workers (cashier)...I use to co-own a restaurant...started getting nasty with me and it totally threw me off my game. I wanted to fire her but my partners feared that it would jeopardize the business so I quit instead, and that day alone I lost 12k trading...after this I went to sports wagering. My first bet was a 4k 2-teamer on Atlanta/Denver Monday night. I took Atlanta and the over...barely lost the over...would of payed me 10k. I layed off for almost a month but then got back into...doing 1500, 1000 2-teamers trying to get the big win...i wanted that feeling of the big win that the futures market gave me, but I kept losing and kept trying to hit the big 2team parlay. I did a couple of 2k straight ups along the way but they never hit either.
