Brazil is 4-1 in this tournament with their only blemish being a one point loss to the Russians. The better team here is getting points. Brazil has the ability to pound the ball in the paint. I really like the match up. They have one of the most experienced ball handlers in the tournament in Barbossa and probably the best NBA backup Center in Splitter. Argentina's strength is shooting the trey and opposing teams are shooting only 29% ( 23-80 ) from beyond the arc against the Brazilians and this is tops in the tournament. They have big front line that does a great job altering shots.
USA / AUSTRALIA UNDER 189
The pattern here suggest this game will go Under. This probably won't be a popular wager as most bettors will blindly bet this game Over after watching the last 2 USA games. The oddsmakers already know this and that is why this Total is a little inflated. With the Semis and Finals coming up there is no reason why the Americans shouldn't ease up a little. 189 points in a 40 minute is like 228 points in an NBA game. I'll take my chances with the UNDER. Do you know the status of Argentina's Prigioni? My numbers have low totals for Spain/France first half, both teams are giving up about 33 points in the first half. Do you have the same slow start in mind?

It's not because the USA is not good defensively , It's because their not trying. Com'on !!! Their more than capable of defending even with this line up.
I am making this wager from a numbers perspective. If the ARG/USA TOTAL WAS 185 TWO DAYS AGO THERE IS NO WAY THE AUS/USA LINE SHOULD BE 190. As a matter of fact if this game were being played opening day this total could of easily been in the mid 160's. Do you recall the first two USA totals.

USA VS TUNISIA ( 153.5 )
As you can see the above totals are quite a contrast in comparison !!!

If the AUS/USA game goes Over in the first half, you'll probably be looking at a much higher total than 195 during 2nd half live wagering.

Here's hoping the new stadium throws off some of the accuracy and the Aussies don't turn the ball over too much and turn it into a track meet.
I expect every team to get a bit "chippy" against USA from now on, so that will be interesting to see how it affects the speed of the games,

It will give this current USA team an identity and probably mean a lot to Doug Collins who will be calling that game if it comes to that. |
