#1 Posted: 6/22/2012 3:31:14 AM And it doesn't matter the opinion of his fans or Heat followers this is just a fact of why he is still disliked by many..........
He CHASED a ring. He formed a team w/ a top 3 player and a top PF in the league all of which are All-Star caliber players to boot. He failed to do it on his own and whent the easy route and fucked over his team mates and organization in a classless and deceiving way in doing so.
This is bottom line why with even this title many will still look down on him and why many aren't impressed. 1 title won't undo in peopels minds all he has shown in his many failures. The reasons stated above has stained him in the minds of many people all around the globe.
The reasons above seems to be the same points why many still do not like Lebron James and i'm sure seems to be the consensus still even after his first Ship. Spite of many Lebron fans/Miami followers efforts in disputing or justifying many won't change their stance.

The post wasn't about being strung up about Miami/Lebron winning a Ship and 'hating' on it - it's about why Lebron still has people looking down on him and why they will maintain that stance. It's for those who constantly try to sway thoughts but people just have had the same thought of Lebron since he flee'd Cleveland and joined forces with superstars to chase that first title - Same opinion that 1 title wont' change.

#10 Posted: 6/22/2012 6:14:09 AM Lebron could have gone to Miami and won a championship and been loved ( well , not by everyone ) if he did things the classy way. But he chose the smug approach, every step of the way.
it was just the way he did , well , everything that pissed people off so much.
He could have been honest with Dan Gilbert and his Cleveland team mates and told them privately that he was leaving once he was a free agent, that he felt like his dreams weren't going to come true in CLE , but no , he chose "the decision"...way to go LeBron ,real classy , rub CLE's face in it , on national TV . Like quitting a job and saying "darn you !"
He could have arrived in Miami without the fanfare and hoopla , and settled in and quietly gone about his pre-season business , BUT he ( & Wade / Bosh ) chose to party before the season and his infamous "not 2,3,4,5 ...." speech ....well done again.
LeBron and Wade sniffling and ridiculing Dirk in last years finals .... again, well done....
after losing the finals last year...he said words to the effect of "the haters will go back to their miserable lives " etc
if LeBron had just done things smaller , quieter , less arrogant , less callous , less public , he coulda been infinitely loved by most of the NBA public ...
sure the guy might be a philanthropist , and a decent human off the court .... but he'll never wipe those stains off his resume , people will never forget
people don't like it when you rub your happiness in their faces , and keep smearing it , again and again . If he just did things in a much more humble manner, without question he'd have been universally worshipped by now....
it's just unfortunate for him , he'll be remembered by so many as a baller whose talent was matched by his ego and his smugness
all things said , he deserved a title ....however he went about it... but there will be a time in his life he'll look back and wish he coulda been more of a class act about it..
I personally want to see Derrick Rose's reaction to winning an NBA title , and the way he goes about it, but CHI need to get a little more creative with their recruitment and the pieces they bring in .

Nobody has ever won a championship on their own. Jordan had Pippen, horace grant craig hodges, john paxson, bill cartwright, later on he had rodman, kukoc, luc longley pippen, steve kerr. Magic had worthy, Kareem, Byron scott, micheal cooper. Bird had mchale, parrish, ainge and many other players. Kobe had Shaq and many other good players....Free agents want to go to those cities and establish teams. Nobody wants to go to Cleveland. Plus he was tired of living in Cleveland, you would be too. |

This is such a tiring & useless excuse & people continue to use it as if it actually means anything or counts as something valid.

I'm explaining why Lebron will still have critics nothing about him winning a title. No matter what Lebron accomplishes in Miami people won't change opinions about him. His actions has put him on a shallow level in peoples minds that will be very difficult to alter.

You'd be pretty naive if you think what i have stated here are not shared by many around the globe lol.
You dismiss me as if you've tackled the negative thoughts shared by the majority and squashed the issue. wake up and smell reality

#16 Posted: 6/22/2012 8:36:52 AM Lebron is a great player. No doubt! He's the best in this era of basketball. No doubt.
Lebron is a unique kind of player that can't be found anywhere. Can pretty much play every position and is un-guardable and have great defense.
But he sucks as a person.
Then let's be fair: Carmelo is one of the best one-on-one player. Not unique at all. No defense and sucks as a person too. I'm a die-hard Knicks fan and even I admit that Knicks will NEVER WIN A CHAMPIONSHIP with MELO. He reminds me too much of Iverson and we all see what happened to him during his era......
Kevin Durant is a unique player. But lacks defense. Great person. He deserves one but who knows if he will get one. The club needs to find ways of surfacing players around him.

The list you had for Jordan, the only true superstar is Pippen. The rest are just role players.
Miami had only wade and brought in TWO superstars! Yes, Bosh went from Superstar to role player form but who cares. He choose to do so. He didn't have bids for All-Star game or the Olympics. I don't mind that Lebron goes to Miami but please do it like a regular player by agreeing with the move and sign the contract. Don't air it on prime time television. Don't air 'The Arrival' show and brag and talk about how good the team is. What also made me upset is how arrogant he was saying that the Miami team can be compared to The Dream Team and he's gonna win not one, not two, not three.... SHUTUP AND PLAY THE GAME. I didn't see Garnett or Allen going to Boston and make a big splash on TV.

#22 Posted: 6/22/2012 9:36:53 AM Paid - you need to go watch some tape on rodman if you think he was just a role player. Rodman is the best p4p rebounder this league has ever seen and was an elite defender |

#23 Posted: 6/22/2012 9:37:40 AM Garnett chased a ring too and he's still one of the most respected stand up guys in the league
you gotta do what you gotta do... If Jordan, Kobe or whatever were in a (hopeless) position like that they would've done the same thing.. He
had no future at Cleveland despite getting them to the finals by his own literally
