maybe like harvard, yale dont offer athelete scholaships? not many african american family from new orleans have $45k a year (maybe $35k during his time). sad but true. thats the way society works.

im sure new mexico offered him a free ride.

Nah, his dad was trying to get him to go to Yale but he chose New Mexico lmao. That Yale degree would come in real handy after he's out of the league and broke like 80% of athletes after 3 years

u cant really argue that yale would have been better for him. im saying, he prob would have hustled during his studies at yale, prob get kicked out, then slang on the corners in new orleans. who knows, maybe he would have been arrested during katrina for looting. 

him going to new mexico, im sorry, he actually transffered to new mexico his junior year from a school called bradly university?

either u slanging rocks or have a wicked jump shot...

Him having the ability to choose not to go to Yale shows he's not the "typical athlete" and won't be broke 3 years after he retires.

Granger is making $12 million dollar a year......I do not think 99% of the graduate of Yale make that much let alone in their lifetime

good point. but he was only offered partial scholarship so im guessing 25%. still hefty amount.

He chose Bradley instead and sold his POPS on the Engineering angle and they had a falling out...then transferred to LOBOS and was Top pick in 1st round in NBA Draft....dude capped his own life and was spot on

If you're good enough to get in the NBA you're going to get in no matter who you play for. He would have owned the Ivy league but instead he's got a degree from fucking New Mexico and prob blew half his money already on mansions and jewelry

All the time?  Then why didn't Lin get an "academic" scholarship?

The Ivy League doesn't care about athletic performance. Columbia was the laughingstock of college football for years but didn't fire their coach. Why? Because they don't care about winning.

And if they don't care about winning, they're certainly not going to give phony academic scholarships that are in fact, athletic scholarships.
