Miami Heat trade talk update

the heat have been discussing the idea of trading j.anthony (3.6m, 3.7m, 3.8m) and n.cole + filler to the rockets for s.dalembert (7.0m, 6.7m team option)

(dalembert cant be traded until march 1 in any case)

some at the heat are urging to make this happen however some dont want to trade n.cole knowing they have him (good player) locked up at an extremely cheap price for the next 4 seasons making him extremely valuable

n.cole: 1.0m,1.1m, 1.1m, 2.1m

dalembert has had an up and down year with the rockets and has fallen out of favour at times

dalembert is a major upgrade but the heats payroll is high and cole provides an extremely cost effective option in the rotation, miller may need to be amnested at some stage in the future when the luxury tax penalties really kick in

it will be very interesting to see how this plays out and who at the heat gets their way

(if battier is making his 3 pointers he closes games its that simple if not the heat look to miller or even chalmers, with battier or even miller guarding guys like pierce and deng - lebron is free to guard rondo and rose)

cole cant play well next to wade and lebron because he is a bad 3pt shooter so he is expendable and with lebron/wade effectively playing point to close games chalmers dosent need a fulltime backup anyway

the 3 man frontcourt rotation of DALEMBERT/HASLEM/BOSH would be an upgrade to point it would be unimaginable the heat even losing 2 games in a playoff series

dalembert is a major upgrade over j.anthony, cole is a steep price to pay i agree however the nba is about winning rings and dalembert in the middle fixes the heats 1 true weekness

it is absolutely true the heat are internally discussing this trade idea whether they present the offer to the rockets after march 1 is another thing

having a good player under control for 4 cap friendly years is a mighty hard thing to part with so i totally understand the heats discussions whether to do it or not

with m.chalmers improvement this season and coles lack of 3 point shooting the heat may well make the deal

bosh/haslem frontcourt closing games is simply not big enough  and against certain teams could create problems, also when bosh is on the bench the heats frontcourt is really shit

if the heat can trade cole, anthony, filler for dalembert and some other type of asset like a draft pick upgrade or something they probably need to do it - for the heat the short term is more important particularly in a couple of years you can still work around lebron/wade/bosh with a couple of  already under the belt

btw dalembert is a dumbass, in free agency the heat were prepared to amnesty m.miller (salary cap threshold) so they could offer dalembert the full mid level exception 5m per 

he wanted to get more money (so the heat signed s.battier to the mini mid level 3m-3years) and the rockets (not even a playoff contender) gave him 7.0m and 6.7m team option, thats not much money to give up considering he stated how much he wanted to play for a title contender a win a ring

after tax kicks in he aint gonna be earning much more money and plays for a bad team stuck between being competetive and rebuilding

i am amazed j.anthony can actually still sit on the bench after the arse-raping KG has given him in his brief time on the court this series

if the heat HAD AQUIRED S.DALEMBERT they would have destroyed the celtics in this series even with c.bosh's injury
