Sacto/Craptors UNDER 189.0
Hard to call a side play on this game. Thornton will probably be back playing but not 100%. The extra 4.5 points is tempting but it's hard to back such struggling road team (0-4). Raptors plays a lot better at home and if there's anything they should be proud of that's their defense. They are 9th in the league in points allowed and second (Philly is .003% better) in the league for the lowest FG% allowed. So if there's anything, the play should be on the total instead. The UNDER is really tempting considering that the Kings is the third worst shooting team in the league (.406 overall and even worst at .368 on the road).
Philadelphia 76ers +4.0
I messed with the way I look at scheduling and thought the 76ers are on their b2b2b last night against Sac but this will be the actual one. Since all 6 teams that have b2b2b schedules so far won all their games SU, it's also a good idea to try and bank on the trend one more time. The trend isn't the only reason to back the road team tonight, but because the 76ers is really balling right now. They are playing the best defense in the league and catching the Knicks at the right time, who currently are having a hard time getting their shots. Like my Cats, the 76ers is the other team who plays the Knicks well and could keep it close. IMO, they can actually win SU.
Lean: Dallas Mavericks +6.0 and UNDER 186.0
I really like the Mavericks as they are slowly gaining good form. I have this gut feel that it will be a close game and the 6 points will come a long way. Boston had a nice long rest prior to this match but IMO it will do them more harm than good. Notice most teams playing in succession is better results and that's why I lean on the Mavs here. The UNDER also looks like a good idea at the moment. Both teams takes up a nice chunk of the shot clock to set up their plays and are both good defensive teams.
Lean: Chicago Bulls -14.0
Another team playing b2b2b catching a Wizards team who just won their first regular season game. Anyhow, Chicago rolls here as usual. Great home team against a really really really bad road team who's still trying to figure out their rotations. Bulls win here but whether they cover, I'm not sure so I downgrade the play to a lean.
Lean: New Orleans Hornets +7.5
Gotta love the Hornets to get a nice little cover against KD and co. If this is played in OKC then the play would be otherwise. Hornets, like it or not, plays good defense but really lacks the offensive punch to keep up against the bigger teams. They have the size to keep up against the Thunder and is both scrappy and tenacious enough to pull a cover. OKC is 1-4 ATS on back to back games this season. Last season, they also do not do well ATS-wise on back to back games. If you try to dig a bit more deeper, they really suck if they play back to back games and the game prior to the second one is decided by 5 points or less. The play is only a lean until I can get 8 points or better.
Lean: San Antonio Spurs -6.5
Spurs was unlucky to catch a Cap'n Jax playing well. Anyway, their road woes continues just as the Rockets, in the same boat, just got a win out of their 6 road games. Spurs is currently immaculate at home playing a bad road team in the Rockets and possibly a revenge angle (20-point Texas drubbing earlier) to this game; sounds like a really good idea. 6.5 is a bit high for my liking but since the Rockets are getting beat by as much as 20 on the road and the Spurs have a winning margin of 14 at home, then why not right?
Lean: New Jersey Nets +12.0
Denver on a 2 game slide getting 2 days of rest prior to this game. I know even you guys can tell that they'll be out to play hard and win this game. I love the Nuggets at home but something about this Nets team that I seem to not really just get it right. They get blown out by 20 middle of the 3rd and still manage to cover the spread. Anyway, I'm leaning on the Nets just because they seem to F-Up any bet I wager in any of their games. Nene and Lawson not 100% also helps. Mozgov and Koufos isn't just enough. They are really missing Nene's production on both ends of the floor.
LA-UTA and ORL-POR writeup probably right after their games.
BOL.
