Sunday NBA Playoffs - Mavericks

2-1 record on Saturday and finished up 1.4 units. 24-19 overall record for the playoffs.

I've seen a lot as a Mavericks fan. Up 3-0 in the first round against Portland back in 2003, only to watch Portland force a game 7 that the Mavs managed to win. I've watched them be up 2-0 in the finals and in charge of game 3 with five minutes left when they completely collapsed and lost the series in 6.

This is not that team. They blew the 20+ point lead to Portland in Game 4 of the first round and haven't lost since. Dirk knows from experience that they can't let the Lakers off the ground today... and he will make sure they don't. Don't fall for the "Lakers are desperate" angle. They've been "desperate" since Game 2 and it hasn't made a lick of difference.

By the way how much fun is to watch Kidd play?

benhogan - It's been fun to watch his resurgence this year. Having a solid backup in Barea has helped keep him fresh. And he's done a decent job defending Kobe as well. I expect a big game from Kidd today.

A little history -- this is the 16th time an NBA team has gone for a sweep at home.  These teams are 10-5 straight up.

LB - I think the Mavs pull away and actually win this one by a large margin, possibly 10 or more. That said, I haven't got a feel for the total at all. If I had to guess I'd go UNDER but that would be strictly a guess.
