Numerous Pistons players, including McGrady, skipped Friday morning's shootaround as what is being termed a "protest" against Detroit coach John Kuester, the Detroit Free Press reports.
Recommendation: McGrady, Tayshaun Prince, Richard Hamilton, Ben Wallace and Chris Wilcox were all absent from the practice. Each player has an excuse (family matter, headache, upset stomach, etc...) for their absence, but a source indicated that the discontent is directed at Kuester. The Pistons have been dysfunctional all season, but this takes the cake. Detroit doesn't know who will be available for Friday's tilt against the Sixers, but the team is expected to go with the players who actually participated in shootaround -- Greg Monroe, Will Bynum, Ben Gordon, Charlie Villanueva, Jason Maxiell and DaJuan Summer.
