Can we ban the people who think the NBA is fixed, cmon already

When you win, the fix was not on that game, but when you lose, the fix is in. Stern wants this and that, and when 1 fails, you move onto a new conspiracy. Get a life. Have you ever reffed an NBA game at the speed and power these guys are going at? The refs do not have special vision. Its the same as you and I. Ive obviously never reffed an NBA game or any Bball game for that matter, but ive had floor seats and everything is so much faster and more physical close up, its impossible half the time to see who made the contact first and if it was made, was it a foul and so on. Yes, stars get calls, but they do in all sports, Gretzky and Mario got all the calls. When Gwynn would bat, if the ball was on the corner, it would be called a ball, because the umpires figured if it was not a strike for a guy with an eye like Tony Gwynn it was not a strike, same for Bonds. Maddux, Glavine got the same calls the opposite ways. Anything on the corners was a strike. In the NFL, if Moss or Fitz goes up for a 1 on 1 jump ball and does not catch it, its P.I., Jordan, Magic, Bird all got the calls. In tennis before instant replay, the stars always got the calls, and their is a sport that would need fixing for viewers. Having Federer or Nadal knocked out in the Quarters kills a major. Get a life people, one rouge ref who by the way was not fixing the out come of games, just the over/unders and was like what a total of 19 games in 4 years or something like that. Its time to move on a realize your a shitty capper and its not the refs fault. Plenty of us do just fine overcoming the refs who are out to get me and my huge 3000 dollar bet. LMAO

its not fixed now, but you have to admit it was fixed before... i never thought it was fixed till all those allegations came out and a lot of it made sense and watching the footage again you could really see some unreal calls, lot of consipiracies and some are ridiculous but some i strongly believe are true... donaghy is a fucken idiot but a lot of those stories do have some merit and no i did not have money on those games that i can remember.

Fixed in meaning? I know for a fact that these Refs do indeed bet on games. Anyone who can tell night from day knows that. Some of the calls on the floor is a disgrace to the NBA.

Fixing/cheating has been part of sports history, its happened in every sport... fact.  When large sums of money are involved, things happen(very very rarely but it happens), we just got to deal with it.

I agree Refs bet on games, but i do not believe SU outcomes are determined by them. Maybe a spread or over under here and there, but the SU wins that Stern supposedly tells the refs to make happen is complete shit.

after the whole donaghy thing and the fbi getting involved i would be shocked if any ref or stern ever said anything about any kind of fix... the only thing refs do now is probably play favorites to certain players and coaches, that will always exist in sports and in life, people play favs they cant help it..

JCtS, you are right, im sorry. I dont open those threads btw. just dont come into mine over and over again and say the only reason I won a big ML play was because the refs were on my side. Thats how this all started. And i know its a message board, but that still does not make it right to accuse people of throwing games. Players or Refs. That would be like you being a stock broker and me accusing you of inside trading. Its just not cool.

in the old days, you just bet against whoever had a big win the game before. they were all still drunk. it was easy. the only thing you can count on now is that the nba wants all the money it can get. do players still drink before and during games or not? i do.

People see what they wanna see.  The refs were always solid when your team won.  They always called it like shit when you lose.  Its natural for people to think that they're getting a raw deal when things don't go your way.

As Jim Rome say: If you ain't cheating, you ain't trying, and it's only cheating if you get caught". I'm not going to get into the fixing/cheating thing.  My concern is the way the refs call the games, it fucking sucks, they pick and choose which plays to call, expecially the late calls. I've seen a number of times when the refs call a foul only because the ball did not go in. "Hell, when you see a foul, damnit call it".

it may not be "fixed" but the refs do have a lot of pull in the game. did you see todays game when paul pierce got fouled after the flagrant and the ref was asking for the ball but pierce totally ignored him, what does that ref do on the next boston possession, call an offensive foul on a fastbreak when it should have clearly been defensive. but then again no one knows what the ref was thinking at the time other than him
