Tabescent - Meaning wasting or shriveling.....that is exactly what today's slate it. One of the worst cards I have seen this season. Very very difficult games. If I wasn't such a degen on a hot streak I would totally lay off on any wagers tonight. But since I am a person of money and basketball I gotta play. However, my play is contingent upon the status of one player. If that player suits up I will NOT be playing anything tonight, that includes the teaser as well even though the team is not included in it. During this run I have learned to pick my spots, my bankroll is stacked to the largest point this season due to the fact that I have stayed away from games although I have had a decent feel on them. Since Wednesday I am 14-2 and am a swaggerlicious 45-5-1 in my last 51 wagers. Hoping Hay sits, if not I will wait until tomorrow. As always gents, wishing you all the best of luck. MINNESOTA TIMBERWOLVES + 8.0 (-115) - - - If Brendan Haywood suits up for this game this bet is VOID. If not I will be taking the Tims at home to cover the spread. If you're asking why does Haywood make that much of a difference, let me tell you. Size is the key to this game, and in my opinion Haywood could be a game changer, I like Brendan a lot. Maybe I shouldn't put that much emphasis on a player of his caliber, but I think he makes the Mavs a lot more dangerous with his presence down low. Forget the fact that the Mavs have historically destroyed the Tims by an average of 17 pts at home in the last 7 meetings in Minny. Forget the fact that the Mavs are statistically the hottest team in the NBA right now. Forget the fact that Minny is licking donkey balls. Matchup wise the Tims are a very tough team for the Mavs to play. Especially the short-handed Mavs. No Damp and hopefully no Hay means that the Mavs go small. They inserted Rodrique Beaubois a very talented rook into the 2 guard spot which means Caron at the 3, Marion at the 4 and Dirk at the 5. RB is an exceptional rook with a lot of talent, he has 63 points in his last 3 games. Despite his success, Corey Brewer is a bigger guard and is a very underrated defender at his position. Put Corey on a title contending team and his defense could make the difference in some playoff games. That is how good a defender he is. Fast on his feet, enough size to disrupt jump shots, I think he causes Beaubois to have a terrible shooting night. Caron Butler may not be able to get his recent potent offense off against Ryan Gomes. A bigger forward with more rebounding ability. Shawn Marion should be man-handled by the drunkan one. Al Jefferson returns after a suspension for DWI. Big Al has not been as dominant as he was after he lost all that weight, however against the Matrix a 3 man, this legit PF/C should dominate him on the glass and is actually fast enough on his feet to prevent Marion's penetration. Ryan Hollins is a very under-rated big man. His offensive game is getting much better. He has played against Dirk many times in practice while he was a Mav and knows his game. Dirk cannot play down low, he cannot defend the low-post and he cannot rebound well. Ryan is very long and will cause Dirk No Win Ski problems offensively. Off the bench...well....Dallas has no bench currently. J.J and Najera are the only two who will see legitimate time. Minny on the other hand has the best offensive rebounder in the NBA in Kevin Love as a 6th man. Darko another big man the Mavs just cannot matchup with. Ramon Sessions a solid PG who can move the ball and make plays & Damien Wilkins a hit or miss forward with some offensive talent. Minny is 9-3 ATS at home in their last 12. Apart from their last two home games without Big Al, the Timberwolves have not lost a home game by more then 8 since December 22 2009 against Atlanta. Take a look at their home defeats. Very close games against top tier teams in the NBA. Minny has stepped up their shooting tremendously. Since Jan 1st they are shooting 37% from 3pt (29% prior to) Minny has the roster to matchup with the Mavs in every aspect, they have caused Minny a lot of problems this season including a straight up win in Dallas. Minny has to confidence to go toe-to-toe against Dallas and should surprise the Mavericks tonight.
