I was never sold on Amare. If he came in, stayed motivated, bought into the Cavs system, and re-signed then it would have been worth it. But too many ifs for me.
Antawn Jamison is a perfect fit. He'll likely be motivated and buy into the team system in place. Likely won't be a distraction in the lockerroom or off the court. Under contract for 2 yrs.
Jamison can hit the open jumper. That's huge. Double Shaq or LeBron and a combination of Jamison, Mo Williams, Delonte West, and Daniel Gibson will be open and very capable of hitting open shots.
Cavs give up virtually nothing. This years draft pick and Z. Not sure of the details but possibly get Z back after 30 days.
I don't think Telfair is much of a factor but he does have a 3:1 assist to turnover ratio and the Cavs need an extra ball handler.
GREAT TRADE. Gives them a legit chance of winning it all this year and virtually seals the deal on LeBron staying although it was pretty much going to happen anyway.

I like it a lot.

This is the sad state of the NBA these days. Almost all of these trades are financially motivated. Just dumping salary to save money now. Almost no regard for the product the fans are stuck with. It's a few have's and a shitload of have not's. Just glad the Cavs have an owner who is willing to spend money to improve the product. Poured in millions to upgrade the arena and millions to build a state of the art training facility. 2 things he didn't have to do.

He may never win a ring but I can guarantee you one thing. It won't be because LeBron didn't do enough.
I think you will find nobody is questioning his effort, doubt anyone in the league wants it more right now then Lebron. What is in question is his killer instinct come business time.

Didn't he hit a 3 at the buzzer to beat Orlando in the playoffs last year??
Goddamn people like to hate. He can't fucking do everything by himself and nobody has won an NBA title by themselves. Every great player has needed help to get it done.

I'm wondering if it comes to a point where guys like MoWill are grumbling because they have to share playing time with people just as good. CLEV is becoming top-heavy here.

This trade is as good as Boston Celtics getting Kevin Garnett
Cleveland will have no problems against Orlando Magic and any other teams in the eastern conference.
Jamison is all about winning and team concept.
Great trade for the Cleveland cavaliers and way to put some thinking into it and rather not just wanting to sell jerseys which would be the case if stoudemire came to town.

Well if they do then they don't care much about winning a championship and will be shown the door. Right now it's about LeBron and Mike Brown's system of team defense. The players have done a great job of buying in and those that don't will be gone as long as those 2 guys are in control.

even if Cavs didn't get Jamison they will still win this year anywaythey too athletic and hurting from last season to let this one slip by. Lakers will be there again but the mantle will be handed over to King James for the next decade

Well Z returning to Cleveland is not a done deal. It's likely the Wizards will buy him out but Dallas and Denver have already expressed interest in signing him. He could play right away with a different team but would have to wait 30 days to go back to Cleveland.
2 promising things for the Cavs is he said his heart is still in Cleveland and they have a $2 million exception to sign bought out players.
I hope he returns for his sake and the fans. Fans love this guy for all he's been through early in his career and the effort he's given.

Wont argue with you because you look like one of thoose Lebrons fans who sees his best and looks away and whistles when people come up with thoughts about areas where he struggle ...
About the trade , Jamison is not a good player in a good team , its been tryed before , just not works.. But he will do for cavs since they have nothing better... This trade wont change THAT much, its like expecting Butler to be a factor in Dallas now..

He has his flaws but is one of the best players on the planet. And his flaws aren't many. I would say he tries to run the point too much sometimes and holds the ball for 22 seconds and forces jumpers when moving the ball or posting up would be better options. That's about all I can think of right now.
Keep hating though. It used to be his lack of a jumpshot. No more. Used to be his poor free throw shooting. No more. Now it's he'snever won a ring. Better hate now because the man will dominate the next 5-8 yrs.

This is a fucking joke of a deal on par with Lakers/Grizz Great Gasol for Piss Poor Gasol in '08 and should be investigated if Z is bought out only to resign with the Cavs...
This trade hands the Cavs a finals appearance they will most win showing that titles are not earned in the NBA, they are simply bought...Reminds me of a team in pinstripes...
Lakers Championship win in '09 was watered down because of the aforementioned trade and this championship will be as well if the Cavs get Z back (and they may not even need him)...
I won't get into the whole Lebron to NY argument as that has been covered in a myriad of other threads but this 'handout' by the Wiz amounts to seismic shift in the entire 'James trade spectrum matrix' back in Cleveland's favor if they bring a ring to the city giving Lebron the now more favorable option to sign a 3 year deal if he stays then sign a max deal when he's 28, still getting ultra-mega star money...with a ring on his finger, that will be much more tempting and much more villainous if he leaves...
fucking joke of a trade deadline that has now resulted in a predestined NBA champion...I'll watch to see the Nets (hopefully get 10 wins) and make some dough, but otherwise, the trophy has already been hoisted over Lebron's head and it's only February
