HOUSTON ROCKETS - 6.0 (-130) - - - Opened at 8 and I bought down. I actually think the line will get a bit better, if so will buy a few more units. I was very impressed with the Houston Rockets against Dallas. Granted they lost but that 1st half of basketball was some of the best I have seen from any team in the NBA this season. Aaron Brooks has really matured and has a chance to be one of the most explosive point guards in the league. I always thought this team was way too small, but guys like Hayes, Landry and Scola are playing very very big. Sometimes they are on the floor at the same time and cause a lot of matchup problems. Where the fuck did David Andersen and Chase Budinger come from? What amazing off-season pickups. These two rooks are very long and each have an array of assets they bring to the table. Chase is very athletic and can steal, rebound, block and shoot the three. David is a 7 footer with an amazing shooting touch. Tonight is all about matchups. Rudy Gay and O.J Mayo are not going to have any success against the defense of Ariza and Battier. I suspect them both to struggle from the field. Lowry and Brooks will outplay Conley and Marcus Williams. The situational spot benefits the Rockets as well. Despite both teams being on a back to back, the Rockets will most def have the advantage. Only 2 players played over 30 mins for HOU last game. A solid distribution of minutes will allow them to be a lot more rested then the Griz who's starters all logged heavy minutes. While they fly to Texas the Rockets were only in Dallas and a short bus ride combined with limited minutes on the back to back combined with the fact that Rockets are the deeper better team should equal an easy dd win.

PORTLAND TRAILBLAZERS - 5.0 (-125) - - - People sleep on this Portland team for various reasons. They seem to really be the invisible dark horse in the West. What most people do not realize is that dating back to last season the best team in the NBA ATS wise and SU is the Portland Trailblazers. Yes deceptive isn't it? This POR team finished the reg. season going 13-3 ATS and 13-3 SU. Granted they were ousted in the first round by HOU but this team is as good as any in the West. No one really talks about how this team did not loose any real part from last year. Instead they add vets Andre Miller and Juwan Howard and now have a healthy Webster all year. Their improvements should not be taken lightly. This new starting lineup of Blake and Miller is working well. They have owned the series vs Minny winning 9 of 10 SU including a blowout a few nights ago at the Rose Garden. The back-to-back should not affect them too much. This team is 10 deep and they will all play. Oden and Prizz played very limited minutes due to foul trouble on Tuesday therefore they should be fresh. Revenge is sweet but the Pups just do not have enough bark to bite tonight.
