Game: Denver @ New Orleans

Enough is a fucking 'nuff. I've had it with Ben Gordon sinking bets with last second chucks with a blindfold on. I've had it with teams having 10+ point leads the ENTIRE GAME, evaporating in the last 2 minutes because shitheads like Rudy Fernandez decide to win a game of HORSE in last 2 minutes (see houston/blazers game 2, NO/Denver game 3, and Orlando/Philly - pick your game). Tonight, we'll be on the other side of the line and avoid that completely.
Denver....what have they done over the previous few years to get here:
1) Shipped Iverson out...a failed trade and they reacted appropriately
2) Brought in George Karl who will be shipped the fuck out of he can't get his ass out of the first round for the 5th season in a row. He also got his 900th win this year and guided the nuggets to their best record, and first place in the northwest division.
3) Brought a REAL team oriented point guard onto the team in Billups and took themselves OUT of the 2010 free agent market with Iverson's expiring contract to WIN NOW.
4) Have Nene, and K-Mart playing at a minimum, inspired basketball.
5) Have enjoyed the spoils of a resurgent JR Smith who can drop 8 three pointers in a game if he gets going...an indispensable weapon outside, who was a few months from being released a few years ago.
6) And finally, have Carmelo Anthony DISTRIBUTING the ball watching his averages fall for the sake of WINS. What a novel concept! All the while he looks up at the guy drafted 2 spots ahead of him...the guy who will get the MVP this year...the guy who just ended the Big-D Detroit era, an era that was dispatched in a similar manner to begin the MJ era (not that I'm comparing the two players).
Well what can Carmelo do?....a guy who is now THIRD with regards to the greats of the 2003 NBA draft behind Lebron and Wade. Hell, maybe some even put Bosh above him. Believe me you this motives him. What can he do? GET THE FUCK OUT OF THE FIRST ROUND OF THE PLAYOFFS. SOMETHING HE'S NEVER DONE!!!! 
How do you do this? What is the recipe for success?
You don't fall behind in the series...done
AND
You DON'T LET A SERIES GET TO A MUST-WIN...that is don't go to a game 5 2-2 or go to a game 7. This is what fucks these inconsistent playoff teams. Well Denver doesn't even get to game 5. THE'VE ONLY WON FIVE FUCKING PLAYOFF GAMES IN 6 PLAYOFF SERIES OVER 14 YEARS.
They do what Houston did last night...the perfect model of success... to end their playoff slump. YOU WIN GAME 4 and go up 3-1... and make the other team go 3-0 with 2 on YOUR court to win the series. A TALL ORDER.
My comments on the Hornets. They got blown out in game 1. I posted that pick as a Denver win. Got blown out in game 2. Laid off because i didn't like the line. And let a huge late lead slip away and Denver if they had a timeout, could have ran a play to JR TO WIN THE GAME. Again i laid off this game because i saw it as a Hornets win but the spread was bothersome.
Tonight I AM NOT LAYING OFF... You will be getting 2 with Denver. No backdoors. No vomiting in your mouth blowing late leads.
What the fuck does all the above mean. We knew most of this shit before the series even started. Well collectively, from a 'macro-perspective,' Denver has: brought in the right players and hired the correct personnel to correct the fuck ups of the past (i.e SIX playoff losses in a row just like Houston) and had a division winning season and are in command of the series to take this game tonight and get out of the first round.
How can Carmelo redeem his '03 draft status? Beat Lebron in the finals. A long shot with the Lakers in the west but at a minimum they can only meet them in the conference finals where they might be able to pull something out of their ass.
Don't think ALL of the above doesn't weigh upon the collective psyche of a Denver team that accomplished little to nothing in almost TWENTY SIX YEARS of playoff basketball
Denver is primed to win this game tonight while i see the wheels falling of the the hornets wagon. If you shut CP3 down, you win for certain. Even if he goes off, Billups is having such a magnificent series (27.6 ppg, 6a, 52.5% fg) I see it as being enough to counter him TONIGHT. Byron has lost this team and they even tried shipping out Chandler for a used hubcap and some hustler \ magazines. Thanks for the service.
We have no time for Denver to go home. That line will be too large with a desperate hornets team. Tonight is the night.
Tonight is about Denver exorcising its demons. To come home and give their fans something they haven't seen in 6 straight playoff series. Tonight....these nuggets are NOT fool's gold.
