DALLAS MAVERICKS - 3.0 - - - A pivotal pivotal game for both squads. A must win in many regards. Should be a hell of a ball game. Playoff atmosphere in Texas tonight. I think Rick Charlisle and Jason Kidd decided to step it up at the perfect time. Coach has now set what should have been the starting 5 from the start. Too many changes (granted some due to injury) But too much tinkering with the line up cost em some games. Now they have Jason and J.J running the show. A healthy Josh Howard is of extreme importance to the Mav's success. Kidd coming of a 20 assist game was masterful vs Nash and the Suns. The vet is leading this Dallas team into the playoffs and wants to make sure his team does not face the Lakers. Utah does not want to face the Lakers either. 1 game sperates these two teams and this should be a hell of a fight. I suspect the Dallas bench to out score the deep Utah bench and that is because of Jason Terry who is back in that 6th man role where he has strived. Dirk has averaged over 30pts at home vs Utah in their last 2 games. Home team has won 7 in a row. Mavs P.O.D.
13 UNITS - - -
- Jazz are 3-13 ATS in their last 16 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600.
- Jazz are 2-9 ATS in their last 11 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record.
- Jazz are 2-11 ATS in their last 13 games as an underdog.
- Jazz are 1-10 ATS in their last 11 games as a road underdog.
- Mavericks are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games playing on 2 days rest.
- Mavericks are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 home games vs. a team with a losing road record.
DETROIT PISTONS - 2.5 - - - This line is a bit more fishy then the Atlanta one. This has value but you also have to wonder why the Pistons are slight faves against a Knick ball club on a back to back and 4 game sin 5 nights situation. I really think it is because the public perception thinks that Detroit is done and will flop as they give up their playoff spot to Charlotte. I really think the Pistons have other plans. When looking at this roster, I really think they are legit. If I were CLE, BOS and ORL I really would not want to see Detroit in the first. Stuckey and Will Bynum are a legit pair of point guards. Rip, Prince, Sheed and Antonio are vets who have been there and done that and should be able to work as a cohesive unit. Kwame Brown has become a servicable centre and Afflalo, Hermann, Johnson and Maxiell round up a roster that should have done some damnage this year...can only imagine what their record would be if Billups was still running the show. Pistons are legit, and when their backs are against the wall I am certain they will show up. They will out-hustle, defend and score on the Knicks at MSG tonight.
