Ok guys dont post too much here, but have been around for many years. Is it just me but, kids do not belong on the Vegas strip. Omg the freaking kids this past week was unbelievable. I mean from ages 3-10 and i mean lots. There just as many kids as there was bums. I personally would never dream of bringing my daughter to Vegas at an early age. Anyways, in short, did a round of golf at Vegas International, thanks for the tip on that guys. Course was in perfect condition. Did great at the sports book. Nailed the blackjack, and got hammered at the slots with the wife lol. Seen several shows, and a must have for everyone is Terry Fator. That man has talent! Saw Andrew Dice Clay, that was just a waste of money. George Wallace was so so. Mystere was ok. The buffet at Treasure Island was great, as well as Planet Hollywood. All in all, Vegas is slowly getting its teeth kicked in. P.S. the $20 tip at check in still works for up grading your room. It truly does work! Comments or questions, welcomed...cheers guys.

When you gave the $20, did you just hand it over with your CC and ID and ask if there was an upgrade available?

Yes, the kids are ridiculous. No reason to bring anyone under the age of 18 on the strip. Maybe during the day, but definitely not once the sun goes down. That's the adult time. Should never have to be told to watch my language because there are kids around especially at midnight.

When I approached the lady at check in, I leaned over and had a $20 bill in my had with my credit card and asked real cheerfully if there was a chance of upgrading to the fountain view rooms(planet hollywood). She looked on computer, looked back up at me and said..smoking or not smoking lol. at that point I said it didnt really matter, thankyou very much.

I agree completely about the kids thing. Last week i was on the strip and a mother asked me to put my cigar out as the smoke was bothering her baby. I told her to get fucckin bent. Politely of course

Did she get bent? Maybe she was a hooker with her kid on spring break?

Glad you had a good time and it seems like you were up on the trip? If so, that just fabulous!

Totally agree with the kids thing. I've seen kids at the local Indian reservation casino's recently and don't get it. Are these people stupid or something? This guy had a dual stroller behind him with kids in a smoky area playing blackjack. How the casino even allowed that was just disturbing. All I can do is laugh whenever I see people with their kids in Vegas. Then again, I think about my first trip and I was 15, so big hypocrite here. Just grateful that I have people I can rely on to watch our kids while we make our trip and then when I go solo during the NFL playoffs.

Glad the old "Is there an upgrade available" trick always works. Usually always worth it. I got a great upgrade at Bally's once. A huge tub in the middle of my room! Man I cant wait to go back!!!

http://thetwentydollartrick.com/, search google and find other results.  It'll work just about anywhere, but again, it all depends on time/day/occupany/ and who is running the front desk and what manager is on duty.

EJ70...You aren't kidding about there being a lot of kids around here!

Are these the families that can't afford Disneyland??

When I was a kid, Las Vegas was a place for adults!
